The Ultralite-mk3 is MOTU's most compact and portable FireWire audio interface, featuring convenient bus powered operation, on-board mixing and effects, superb sound and reliable performance. The UltraLite-mk3 provides flexible and mobile bus-powered operation, professional audio quality at samples rates up to 192 kHz and plenty of I/O, including two mic/instrument inputs, six line-level analog inputs, ten channels of analog output, stereo S/PDIF and a discrete stereo headphone output. Housed in a rugged, compact enclosure you can take anywhere, the UltraLite-mk3 is equally well-suited for studio and stage, with or without a computer. As an interface or standalone mixer, the UltraLite-mk3 provides 10 separate inputs and 14 separate outputs. Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines, effects processors and even MIDI devices. As a professional recording and mixing engineer, it was a pleasure to find that MOTU lives up to my colleague's recommendations. This unit is packed with power, travels light and performs very well for such a compact form factor. Software drivers were easily updated for the latest version of Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) using the MOTU website. Thanks for another awesome product, Mark Of The Unicorn!

The motu ultralite exceeded my expectations.
Pristine audio quality (seriously), and as an added bonus the built in reverbs are very clean and usable. The unit being bus powered is a huge asset for remote recording and doesn't eat batteries nearly as much as i thought it would.

Also, the odyessy bag that was included with this purchase is a VERY nice bag.

My only wish it that it came with a more professional and versatile program such as ableton live.

Awesome hardware! Kind of bad drivers.

This is really an awesome clean small sound interface (albeit not the cheapest).

I have a PC and initially trouble getting it to run in a lot of programs. The MOTU ASIO is less than perfect on PCs. Eventually I started using the free ASIO4ALL and now it works great! It's everything I wanted - but shame on MOTU for poor PC support.

This device has lots of i/o in a small package, very stable drivers and easy to use CueMix software interface. Working great with Sonar. Gave it four stars as the mic pres are great for the price range but still not truly excellent.
