What makes this mike a great one for anyones recording locker is that it has good sound without the usual Asian "hyped" 5-6K spike that interferes with mixdown chores like EQ or compression. This Mike was the overwhelming winner with a number of of pros in a blind test shootout of drum tom mikes beating out the usual Senn MD-421, SM57, and others because it tracked and sounded good without EQ or compression, and is not as position sensitive as either of the mics mentioned.
