As a commercial studio we buy many mics to address the needs of our clients. We bought All Three of the trion line, 6000, 7000 and 8000 tube. The 8000 is a wonderful mic and when pushed through a good pre is wonderful. The best mate to the mic is the Mindprint DTC which has a very high impedance and the mic just sings. There is a great deal of shmoozy low mids and a very comfortable 5k'ish area. It tamed every tenor and soprano vocalist I tried it on and killed on horn, sax and as a pair on the top of the B3/Leslie 122 rig. Amazing product for the money. The 6000 ribbon also is a great guitar cab mic and has been used for large choir/vocal projects with very good results.
