I love my new snowflake microphone. The sound quality is crisp and exceptionally clear. It can almost be mistakened for a more expensive professional microphone. I use the snowflake for podcasting, video blogging and voice-overs. I'm so pleased with the snowflake microphone that I purchased two of them (one for myself and one for my co-host)! The thing I noticed with the body of the snowflake is that the hinge on one of the mics is slightly loose. It is still operational but is just a little loose when in it's carrying position (kinda falls away from the case - see photo). But I may have got a defective one because the other microphone that I purchased is perfect (doesn't fall away from case). Aside from that, I highly recommend this microphone to anyone needing a professional sound for an inexpensive price.

I am a professional podcaster and I simply love this microphone. I go to live events and this microphone is perfect for this as it is crisp, clear and cuts out ambient noise.It is better then my [$] microphone setup and has taken the role of my in studio microphone.I strongly recommend this product.

I realize that most of the user base at Abe's of Maine are professional musicians, and will likely use this product in some sort of recording application, but I just wanted to point out that Blue's Snowflake is a fantastic array mic for voice recognition software. I've been using it for two weeks now with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10, and I am beyond happy.
In fact, right now I am using Dragon and my Snowflake to dictate this review, with music playing in the background. Sure, I'm having to correct a little bit more than usual, but I'd say overall I'm getting at least 85% accuracy while blasting reggae music. Well, maybe not blasting, but it's certainly not quiet!
I'm very satisfied, and I can't wait to try out with MacSpeech Dictate on my MacBook Pro. The portable aspect is a huge plus!

i got this microphone for making calls and recording voiceover tracks and am very happy with the purchase. it's easy to set up and transport, good sound clarity and sensitive enough so that i can set it on my desk and talk normally to converse. big improvement over the headset mic i'd been previously using.
one drawback: i'm also using to to record voiceover stuff, and i need to get close to it to avoid sounding like i'm in a tin can, which means i need to lean down over my desk while speaking. however, that's ultimately more about the acoustics of my office than it is about the microphone.

The BLUE Snowflake is the perfect USB microphone to accompany any computer. BLUE is known for their high quality, pristine microphones and the Snowflake just furthers that reputation. The design is also fantastic allowing you to store it safely while using the same casing to place it on a desktop or mount it on your laptop's monitor. Bottom line-it doesn't get any better than this.
