Until I purchased these speakers I did not realize what I was missing. My previous monitor speakers were supposed to be "Truthful" , and I tried various microphones, preamps, etc , thinking something was wrong.
It was night and day when the EXO came on line.Way better stereo separation, freq response, and clarity.Less fatigue . I heard things in my mixes that were obscured previously. I am going back and remixing tracks with the Blue Skys now..

I give these 5 stars because of their value for the money. There are better speakers, of course, but not for [$] from Abes of Maine.I purchased these to tweak the audio in video history interviews and to work with Adobe Audition in adding music and sound effects to videos. The sound is clear and easy on the ears over long periods of time, and the bass module adds nice low end punch. I also like having the control module sitting on my desk for adjusting volume and the subwoofer level, and providing a headphone jack (although I seldom use it).In addition to my video work, I also listen to music from iTunes and CDs through these speakers and they sound wonderful on well-recorded music.These play plenty loud in my bedroom office but I would expect them to be stressed at high outputs in larger rooms.
