Everything from Bernaise Sauce to smoothies, extremely versatile and quiet. I've been through 3 smoothie makers, and probably half a dozen other name brand blenders, one not even lasting thru 6 protein shakes. This Breville is the best I have ever used, period.

I use this blender 3 to 4 times a week making smoothies. The ice crushes very good, but after I add other ingredients, the contents leaks out the bottom of the pitcher every time. Before each use I fill the pitcher with water to make sure the rubber seal is situated correctly and no water leaks out the bottom. I then dump the water out and place it on the base and start making my smoothies - sure enough, a few minutes into the process, the contents leaks out all over the place creating a huge mess.

I use this blender to make drinks and crush ice. I love it! Best ice crusher I've ever had. Looked up blenders on consumer report and took their advise. Glad I did.

Used it for smoothie this a.m. Smoothies are tough, and this thing executed. The automatic smoothie function is perfect for my wife, who could not be trained to use our other blender.
The difference even without the automatic function is night and day. This blender crushed the ice effortlessly and blended effectively in one minute. Awesome.
Haven't used it for anything else, but nothing else is as hard to handle as a smoothie. If it doesn't disintegrate in its second use, I expect no issues on the items that lesser blenders handle just fine.
