Great grinder, relatively quiet, but hopper is kinda flimsy with plastic hinges on the lid which look like they will easily break if accidentally bumped while washing or drying. Handle hopper with care.
This is our 3rd grinder after grinding coffee for over 15 years and the best value for the money. Prior ones were flat burr type and very noisy with clogs. The Breville conical burr drops the grinds down into the hopper and is the way to go.

Not only is the grinder great but the personnel of the Breville Company located in Torrance, CA were extremely,helpful in assisting me in returning the first one I received. For some strange reason it just would not grind. Not good for a grinder especially for a coffee drinker! [...]As for the grinder I love it! I love the fact that it doesn't jar my early morning calm, it is easy to use, easy to clean, and presents a very nice appearance in my dining room coffee station. I am very pleased I selected the Brille and I am also very pleased I selected to purchase it from Abe's of Main, another great organization. Thanks.

I was told my relatively new, fairly expensive latte machine was broken, and that I should buy one. I then talked to a person from the where I purchased my latte machine. He suggested that I buy beans ground for espresso from my local coffee shop and try those first to make sure it was the latte machine and not my grinder (which was relatively new and moderately priced). The culprit was the grinder and not my latte machine. After much searching, I found and purchased the Breville BCG450XL conical grinder, and I absolutely love it! It is easy to use and to clean, and the burrs are metal rather than plastic like my broken one. I can grind my beans just like my local coffee shop and I can pull a perfect shot of espresso to my rather picky taste.

Grinder works well and is very quiet. Grinds beans to same degree and volume every time. Only complaint is static buildup that can be remedied by waiting ten minutes after grinding. We live in dry climate so maybe adds to static level.
