Thisis one solid blender that can even food process but be careful not to let it get too hot when making thick, heavy foods I love it.

I use it to make shakes. It never fails even if you tighten w/ the specific black device (to untighten), it always leak. I just ordered a replacement sealing ring to see if that is the problem. we will c! Aside from the leakage, it is very powerful when it doesn't spill.

The very cool-looking pitcher doesn't funnel the food and liquids efficiently to the blades at the bottom, so much of the powerful motor's energy is wasted. So far I only make smoothies in our Breville IKON. I have to stop the motor frequently and shake the contents down before turning it on again--this several times, at least, before my smoothie is blended. By contrast my $40 Osterizer at another residence is very efficient for smoothies, nut butters, etc..., stuff my new Breville simply can't handle, though it should. Frankly, I'm dissappointed. Get a good Osterizer.

About the leaking problem people tend to talk about.
If you make sure to place correctly the rubber ring to seal everything, it's fine.

Really powerfull compared to other home blenders !

This machine can do almost everything a food processor can do. It's quiet yet powerful. I love the shaved ice feature. One of my best small appliances so far
