Definitely quiet as far as blenders go. Comments you may have read about this blenders from tohers are true such as a challenge to put together and blending. Other reads commented on the difficulty of assembly and it is true but with a little practive this can easily be overcome. The bigger issue I have is that the blending really does not work nearly as well as my jet engine noisy as hell blender which I wnated to replace. Yes it blends and you have to put the liquids in first then the powder and fruit (etc) but even then you still do not get the silky smooth frothy blend you hope for. Maybe a few more tries and I can perfect the process but if you are looking for a powerful blender that is QUIET and does a reasonable job and you are somewhat mechanically inclined (the asembly issue), this blender is for you. One more point, the jar itself is huge and that may be why you really can't get a good vortex going with a small amount of liquids.

Fast and Quite, without any question the best blender I've ever owned. You get what you pay for and for the price of this one you get a lot.

Consumer Reports listed this blender as "Very Good" at making fruit smoothies. They also gave it a "Very Good" rating on noise. Finally, I like blenders you can take apart to clean. Since I make a smoothie for breakfast EVERY morning EARLY, this one sounded right up my alley. Well, not so much. It has plenty of power but I think the jar is just too round to keep directing the frozen strawberries into the blades on all but the lowest speed but on the slowest speed it takes a long time for the blade to nip away and blend it all up.
