This is an excellent expresso maker. The pump is powerful and the coffee tastes excellent. I was also going to buy a krups but I had read about the multiple issues with the steaming component that I decided on this one.

The Breville cafe Roma works well, makes great espresso with wonderful crema. Simple to use, easy to maintain. The refurbished machine was missing the two espresso cups, but it had the steamer pitcher, scoop/tamper, single and double shot baskets and booklet. Those two stainless steel cups won't be missed. I'd buy again and I'd buy from Abes of Maine.

This is the first espresso machine I have purchased after doing a lot research for machines in this price range. My 16 year old son and I am pleased each morning when we can make latte's or cappuccino's without any difficulty. I found that tamping the espresso firmly in the filter makes a better pull, whereas the directions suggest a loose tamp. Lastly, the pump is a little loud when steaming milk, but all in all, I am pleased with it, and with the suggested minor maintenance (de-calcify and keeping the spouts clean) I expect many years of use.
