This is a great traditional coffee pot. It is very hard to find a stove top percolator, so for those of us who like to brew a strong cup of coffee without the bells and whistles of an automatic drip coffee maker, this is the best thing on the market.

You can brew as long as you want to, unlike coffee makers that just drip. With the percolator being glass, you can see how dark the coffee is. And, we just love the clear top to watch it percolate! Excellent as a gift too.

For 8 cups I fill to the bottom of the metal handle ring. A filter is added to the coffee basket and filled with coffee combinations for desired taste; failure to add a filter will result in grounds. The assembled unit is then placed on a small electric burner with the included metal support. The burner control is set to "high" and timed for 14 minutes (percolating starts at 11 minutes). Burner is then turned off and percolation continues until desired color darkness/strength is reached. Hot coffee is then placed into a carafe for serving. Great tasting smooth coffee with no bitterness.
