This replaces a 21 year old Delonghi Toaster Oven that finally died on us. The Delonghi served us well but the Breville is an incredible upgrade. The difference is like the difference between a horse and buggy and a Ferrari. We have a Viking stove (oven + cook top) and the Breville performs many of the functions previously delegated to our Viking oven. My wife and I have been joking that if we renovated our kitchen today, we could delete the need for the Viking oven. While this is a bit of an exaggeration, the Breville could, in a dorm or studio apartment, take over most of the functions of a full size oven. Finally, the Breville looks fabulous. We love it and so did my mother in law. She arrived from California the day after we set up the Breville. She may purchase one for herself.

Very even toasting for bread and bagels. Pizza turned out perfect. Baking fish dishes (salmon, talapia) are quick with the convection oven and the fish seems to be more moist and juicy than baking in a conventional ovens. This will often take the place of my large gas oven.

I use this oven primarily for making toast, bagels, and reheating foods. It took approximately two weeks for the oven to regulate properly. Now it heats and toasts beautifully. The toast has a nice crisp exterior and stays moist inside. The food heats evenly and, even with the convection fan turned off, heats food very rapidly. Whether using convection or conventional heat, the food is always cooked evenly. I'm surprised and delighted at how quickly it does heat. The design and quality are outstanding. It looks very good on the countertop. I was concerned that it would look oversized but it actually appears smaller and more compace than it is - very chic. It's a breeze to clean - the large tray slides out easily from the
front. There is a lot of room in the interior for making six slices of toast or a moderate sized pizza. It comes with a well designed,substantially made broiling pan and round pizza pan. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

The controls are sensibly designed. The heating is even throughout. I would like the unit to be little heavier and to have an interior light. The capacity is adequate, if not generous. The accommodation of a 13" round pan is very useful. The depth of the oven beyond the center is disappointing.

A great little oven. Calling it a toaster oven seems inappropriate. Does an excellent job in convection mode, very simple to use and toasts perfectly. Our previous DeLonghi model finally died after eight years (bottom heating elements went kaput) and we searched Consumer Reports for a replacement. This was CRs top rated oven but it was so expensive. I too originally balked at the price and ignored this oven but the more I researched the more I read people claiming how good it was. I figured what the heck, I can always return it. Ahem, this is hands down the BEST little oven I have ever used. No other way to put it. Worth the price so far, let's see how it last over time.

I caught my old $20 toaster on fire so I thought I would get this for Christmas..I baked 3 dozen rolls in the oven and it worked great. It works great to toast things too. It feels kind of thin and very light but it works really well. The convection fan is very quiet compared to a KRUPS convection oven. It is also one of the biggest convection ovens available. Its so much smaller than a regular oven it only takes about 5 minutes to pre-heat.Its great for those things you want to quickly re-bake rather than putting them in a microwave.This is the 3rd or 4th large purchase I have bought from Abe's of Maine and they have never failed me. I spent a good amount of time searching the internet and looking in stores to find an acceptable replacement for the toaster oven we had been using. Nothing seemed to be on the par with that oven, UNTIL I came across the Breville. After some serious contemplation I ordered the Breville [...] We've had it only two weeks now, but I've cooked a variety of foods in it, all done to perfection and equal to or superior to what we deemed as normal from our previous oven. I read with interest the comments by other reviewers of the "problem" with using aluminum foil or glass bake ware in the oven. Timidly I prepared some of the meals using foil and/or glass. Everything went just fine with no difficulties or snags. I kept the foil well away from the heating elements and I used Pyrex® oven proof bake ware. We haven't touched the big oven once since receiving the Breville. I am very happy with this outstanding product.The only fault I could find was that there is no option to cook without the timer, but I now consider that to be not much of a problem. At first the price seemed a bit daunting, but that evaporated shortly after having used the oven several times. You'll enjoy it!

This was a gift for my daughter and family. They love it! They wanted an oven that they could use instead of turning on their big oven. They said it toasts and cooks great, and is really on with all the pre-settings. They are using their oven less which is awesome. The piece behind the handle gets hot which they assume will burn them someday but has not happened yet.

I have only had this oven for a month, but I am in love with it already. Everything that I have tried in it has come out much better than my old toaster oven, and it heats up the kitchen so much less than my regular oven.

Great uses:
toasts bread and bagels and pretzels
Cooking frozen pizza (my old 13" pan fit perfectly)
baking brownies
baking fish

I can't wait to roast a pork loin in it, and I am also eager to roast a chicken.

This had joined my Griddler as one of my favorite appliances.

Expensive, but worth it.

What a pleasure it is to use a device that's been well designed - from packaging to the actual food preparation. This toaster is extremely easy to use and the quality of food prepared is amazing. This is our first Breville product and most likely it won't be the last.

Haven't used it long enough to really report all uses. Looks great with upscale appliances. Toasts well-we no longer have our toaster out. The knobs feel loose which gives a negative/cheap impression-may be an easy change for the manufacturer, but does not affect performance. More slots for racking to bake 2 pizzas at once would be nice (it comes with one rack).
