It is a nice set for someone who enjoys cooking and wants the right tools to do so. I especially love that the steamer pot fits all three of the smaller pots. Would be nice to have glass lids but we already had some from a previous cuisinart set that fit these so I have no complaints. The note about small blemishes is relatively minor. There are a few spots that have begun to show up after using the items only a few times but we have had one skillet from this set for two years, using it frequently, and it looks no worse than the ones we have used only a few times so I know they are durable.

I am a pretty heavy-duty cook of all things vegetarian. This set has it all, though I am still holding on to my cast iron skillets, maybe for nostalgic reasons. I find this Cuisinart cookware heats very evenly and is easy to control the rate of browning of onions and such. My only complaint is that the lid handles get hot and I have to use a potholder to lift them.

After reviewing other cookware sets and deciding on this set; I am satisfied. I was concerned about the cool grip handles being made of metal and for the most part they do stay cool. There are however a couple instances where they don't stay cool. When boiling water for pasta or using high heat to get things heated quickly (using the boost burner on your stove). Other than that I have been satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone else looking for a great starter kit.
