How did we live without this? My husband makes some of the best stews & soups ever. The drawback is the time it takes to accomplish this. Browning, sweating, stewing, can take all day. I have been eating the most wonderful beef stew all week. It took about 1 hour to make. The longest time was to brown the meat, which was done in the cooker, as opposed to another pan.
Once browned, & other ingredients added, it took about 20 minutes using the pressure cooking feature. Results were superior. It makes great rice. We have yet to use the slow cooking option, but the pressure cook option is amazing. Scary, yes, but amazing.We have miniscule counter space, so the steam escaping was a bit frightening, but the result was well worth it. I can't say enough good things about this cooker. Also, very easy to clean.
