This size is best fit on my range's larger burners. The 2.5 quart fits the smaller burners perfectly. Using medium or lower heat works best for me. I would recommend these to anyone in a heartbeat. They are the best.

Looks so nice I wish I'd spent the extra money to get a color version. Mine's just the matte black. Trouble is, that shiny brass knob that looks so nice at first has tarnished after three washings in the dishwasher. Doesn't look so great now. My fault, I suppose, but who knew? I've used it for making pot bread, stew, other things. It is a great pot. Expensive, but great.

I did a lot of research on these, and ended up deciding that the matte black is always gonna go with my kitchen. The pot is large enough for a boneless pork loin or small pork shoulder, a 4-5 lb chicken or other small bird, etc.
The matte black finish on the INSIDE is what makes this better than the Le Creuset if you do a lot of browning. That same black, I hear, tends to slightly overcook the crust if you're making bread in it.
It's easy to clean, holds heat for a REALLY long time, and I am generally quite enamored of it!
It's also, somewhat oddly, a great pot to have for a small place because you can do one-pot meals in it and slow cooked items.

This is an excellent cooking tool. Basting spikes on bottom side of lid make it even better. Does not leak and retains all moisture. Entire pot heats evenly unlike conventional pots. Highly recommended for various cooking styles.
