Brews hotter coffee than the average machine. Cap for the carafe can't be left on the pot when not being used so it might be misplaced. Definately a great compromise for better coffee without spending hundreds of $$ on the premium brands. Pot needs to be positioned properly when brewing.

This is an overall nice coffee maker for the price. We really like it that the coffee stays hot for hours without getting that burnt taste. Like being able to see the water level without having to open the reservoir cover. Easy to program.

Disappointed with this moderately priced carafe brewing system – was looking forward to having fresh HOT coffee 1/2hr or 1hr after brewing…this is not happening with this maker! Temperature holds at 160+ degrees after 1/2hr which is just not hot enough. Recommended coffee holding temp is 175-185 degrees. It is just hot enough after brewing…have even heated carafe with HOT water prior to brewing and coffee still losses temp. I end up microwaving to heat which deteriorate natural coffee flavor. Also the carafe lid holds liquid inside it. When you shake it small amounts of liquid come out. Since it can’t be cleaned and dried correctly, I am sure bacteria have the opportunity for growth. Plan on exercising warranty because of this defect and returning the item.

Great tasting coffee that retains heat upto about 4 hours. The #4 filter (recommended) sticks out a bit and needs to be tucked under the movable spout that needs to be moved out and back in for changing filters. I wonder if a stainless mesh permanent filter would be more convenient than the paper filter, although cleaning would be a chore.

MAKES GREAT COFFEE. SCREW ON LID IS HARD TO UNSCREW, HURTS YOUR HAND TO TAKE IT OFF. WIFE REALLY HAS A HARD TIME WITH THE LID. CARAFE DOES NOT KEEP COFFEE HOT ALL DAY AS SOME HAVE SAID EVEN WHEN YOU PUT THE EXTRA CAP ON THE CARAFE. IT IS A STAINLESS STEEL CARAFE, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE INSULATED, AS I THINK IT IS HAS HOLLOW WALLS. I'M THINKING ABOUT DRILLING A HOLE IN IT AND FILLING WITH THE FOAM INSULATION TO KEEP THE COFFEE HOTTER.

We use this product every day. We set the timer in the evenings in order to have fresh hot coffee when we wake up in the morning. We really like the large opening for filling the unit with water and the fact that you can pour the water, or coffee, without getting it everywhere, because of the design of the carafe spout. The only thing we don't care for is how loud the coffee maker is when brewing. Again, we set it at night, so when it brews (just prior to us awakening for the day), it actually wakes us up. But, after 3 weeks, we are getting used to the sound now. I would definitely buy this again.
