You want to taste really good doughnuts, french fries, or tempura? This Kalorik deep fryer makes it easy because it's so well designed. The heating coil sits in the oil so it heats rapidly, but the unit disassembles easily and you can clean the coil thoroughly when you're done. The oil reservoir is a thick glass bowl that lets you see food frying and that you can clean by putting in the dishwasher. Safety is always an issue when deep frying; the Kalorik takes care of that with a magnetic electrical plug that would pull away from the appliance in case of an accident; it also shuts off automatically if you turn it on without oil in the bowl. The designers neglected only one issue: getting oil out of the bowl and into storage containers (they assume you'll keep oil in the bowl and simply cover it with the "flying saucer" lid). A pour spout would make sense. Even so, this is an elegant piece of equipment and I highly recommend it.
