The FD-1018 Gardenmaster Pro Dehydrator is Nesco / American Harvest's top of the line dehydrator. In fact, the Gardenmaster Pro Deyhdrator is more powerful and larger than any other. The Gardenmaster Pro Dehydrator can expand to an enormous 30 trays, which allows extremely large quantities of dehydrating! 1000 watts ensures you complete drying capabilities. In addition, the Patented Converga-Flow fan forces heated air up the exterior pressurized chamber, then horizontally across each individual tray, converging in the center, for fast, even and nutritious drying. my old dehydrater was a ronco that used a light bulb for heat.
what a step up!!
this thing is gigantic, 8 of the 15inch trays
& very fast to dry

This is a nice unit, definitely recommend over the 1010 as 4 trays aren't enough. Drying over 6 trays is pretty consistent and the bottom heater works well. I like the expandability with additional trays.

So far I've made beef jerky and a couple batches of dried fruit and fruit roll-ups. Dried apples were exceptional after treating in a light solution of lemon juice, honey and cinnamon. Beef jerky was the best I've ever had.

Store bought apples were too expensive. I'd only recommend drying home grown stuff.

Overall I'm very happy with the unit but it does need a timer.

This dehydrator is the second machine that I have purchased from this company. Both are incredible dehydrators. I use this unit to dry green banannas and sometimes beef jerky. In the Gulf area of Texas high humidity makes the process of drying fruit almost a week-long endeavor without a high powered fan and heating element. This dehydrator stills dries 8 trays of fruit in 24 hours or less (85% humidity).

This unit has plenty of power for dehydrating all eight trays at once. Only complaint is that the little "hooks" that connect one tray to another are fragile and break off easily.

It's so nice to have 8 trays and non-stick sheets for all of them--it makes it easy to make big batches of stuff. I withheld a star because I wish it were more energy efficient.

First time I ever tried dehydrating. It arrived and I dove right in to Fruit Leather making. All I can say is WOW.....I thought it would be harder, more complex and difficult....The Gardenmaster FD-1018P made me look like a "seasoned" professional!!!!

I bought this product based on the recommendation of a friend and have been very happy with it. I started using it about 3 weeks ago and the possibilities seem to be endless. My favorite so far is dehydrated strawberries. I bought them in bulk when they were in season, dehydrated them, and then sealed them in individual vacuum packs for a quick on the go snack. I have also tried plums and blueberries and plan to try apples in the coming weeks. I particularly like the screen accessory that comes with this product. The delicate fruit slices are very easy to peel off the screens and cleanup is as simple as a little soap and water.
