The Kershaw Shun Classic Carving Knife Set features 2 Shun Kitchen Utensils. The Kershaw Shun Carving Knife features an 8" Damascus style blade made of 33 layer stainless steel. The Shun Carving Fork has two 6 1/2" tines made of 33 layer stainless steel. The Damascus style blade and tine profile reduces sticking, resulting in less damage to food being cut and faster preparation times. The steel is fabricated from a core of VG-10 steel, which is hardened to a 60 Rockwell, and composed of Carbon, Chromium, Cobalt, Manganese, Molybdenum, Silicon, and Vanadium. The VG-10 core is clad with 16 layers of SUS410 high carbon stainless steel on each side, producing 33 layers of rust free Damascus style steel. The finished forge welded product has been designated as Cobalt M.V. steel. The ergonomic D shaped ebony black PakkaWood handle offers maximum comfort and control, and includes a unique offset stainless steel bolster and a stainless steel end cap.
