My wife and I burned several tea kettles this year so I bought this all stainless steel kettle. The kettle performs well and we haven't destroyed this one. The problem is that the handle gets very hot and stays very hot for quite some time. We have both mildly burned ourselves picking the kettle up after the other had boiled water. Chantal does provide a handle mitt but they warn you not to leave it on. The handle should be made out of aluminum and shaped differently to better dissipate heat.
