Comments about Zojirushi CV-DSC40 - VE Hybrid Water Boiler And Warmer:

We drink a lot of water each day, going through about 2-4 boils daily. We find the product to be feature-filled, easy to use, and quite efficient in terms of energy.

The simple verdict? Buy this, it's worth every penny, and you can feel good about yourself saving a bunch of energy too.

When looking around, I researched the energy footprints of different water boilers, and although this model does command a price premium, under normal usage you can actually save that (premium cost) money from energy savings in well under 2 years. Completely worth it, especially with a Zojirushi that should last at least 2-3 years. That said, these things consume a LOT of energy. Get one only if you really drink a lot of hot water.

The vacuum function is useful for summer, and the choice of three temperatures to KEEP WARM is also good. The melody has surprisingly not become annoying. I have not once used the drip function, and am not sure it's necessary - it would probably be more useful if the drip function was automated (e.g. press a combination of buttons, leave your cup there, come back in a minute and viola! drip coffee.

One potential issue - it seems the lid could be tighter. I am not sure if this is just a design issue or a potential flaw in our unit.
