I work hard to keep my house clean at all times. I have allergies and dust/pet fur contribute to my problems. Finding a vac that would pick up the fur and suction up the dust from every area that it accumulates has been impossible until now. I was using my husband's powerful shop vac and overlooked the inconvenience of the vac being bulky and hard to pull around the house. I kept searching for a vac with suction. I had a windtunnel and three different types of sweepers. None performed well, and I would return to the Shop vac. I kept my eyes on various reports to find a product that would perform. Not only did Oxygen receive excellent recommendations, but my Oxygen is a dream come true. I only NEED the Oxygen now, it's suction ability is equivalent to the powerful shop vac. This is the only vac I use, I don't even need the microfiber dust cloths I bought, the vac does the job for me. Be prepared, although the Oxygen has excellent suction for dusting virtually anything, cleaning hardwood floors and carpets, IT IS very loud when you have the power nozzle attached to clean carpets. The noise sounds like a leaf blower engine. [...] The vacuum is made in the USA and the power nozzle is made in CHINA.

I spent a lot of time researching this vacuum and chose it because of its high Consumer Reports rating. It is quiet, small, lightweight and has good suction. It's the best canister I've ever had regarding these features. The handle is well placed for carrying. The cord rewind feature is nice.

Attachments have fallen off the wand if they aren't attached securely, especially the brush. The floor attachment is 14" long, which can be a little difficult to maneuver around furniture or in tight spaces. It doesn't clip onto the vacuum anywhere like the other 2 attachments and has to be stored separately.

Main Negative: The carpet attachment has a design flaw in that it only rotates in one direction, which takes some energy to get the power head moving in the direction (comparable to driving a car out of alignment).

I haven't had it long enough to review reliability. For the short time period I've had it, I would recommend this vacuum cleaner.

We use this as our "stairs and hardwood floor" vacuum. It is generally easy to use--light enough to carry while stairway cleaning. Much quieter than our old canister as well as the Hoover "Wind Tunnel" upright we use. The hose and terminal handle are a bit awkward; and the telescoping wand --while useful-- requires letting go of the handle and using two hands at the point of extension. Oh--and the disposable bag is definitely on the small side.
All that said, the Electrolux is a thoughtfully-designed, efficient canister vac--we're glad we bought it.

This is a very good vacuum. It is powerful and easy to use. It is not loud. I like the retractable cord.

The attachments are conveniently located under the handle of the vacuum, however they fall out frequently during use. In addition, the crevice tool is only about 6 or 7 inches long and doesn't reach into those deep places.

I bought this for a small (480 square feet) Miami condo. The condo has marble floors with a couple of throw rugs. The vacuum is 10X better than the old one (a Hoover Upright Vacuum with Fold Down Handle), which I had inherited when I bought the condo. In particular, I like that it's lightweight and small. Because this is such a small place with only one closet, storage is an issue. Although this is larger than the old vacuum (two sections instead of one upright), it works much better. The controls are easy to use and the attachments quick to switch-out. I haven't changed a bag yet so don't know how that will be.

Wow - I wanted a real Electrolux, but the prices were daunting, so we chose this Consumer Reports "best deal" over the top-rated Kenmore brand because we have destroyed 3 (yeah 3!) of those already and I wanted to try something different. This little machine is extremely lightweight and has a longer than normal hose (so less moving the actual machine). It has really powerful suction - raise the roller level for throw rugs, but we love it! With 4 kids and a dog - I vacuum every other day and this really feels like it's doing the job.

The only things I wish were different were a little quieter power nozzle, stronger hose from canister to wand, and a longer power cord. I love it! I would recommend it to anyone.
