This cabinet went together well with screws, pins and cams EXCEPT for the screws which attach the door hinges to the cabinet which were not a real tight fit and thus getting the door perfectly aligned in the opening was not possible. These screws never tighten and stop turning. These hinge screw holes should have been drilled at a slightly smaller diameter. All the other screws fit very tightly in the pre-drilled holes like the screws that are shelf support brackets and screws that are pins for the cams - so this was a surprise and a big disapointment that there was no excuse for. I had to put a thick felt pad about the size of a nickel (the type of self adhesive pads made for furniture legs)as a spacer on the bottom edge of the door to have it stay in the opening with the correct and equal space all around four sides of the door. Part of this problem is that with all the cams tight and even after the rear panel is installed the overall cabinet is still a little shakey and can be off perfect square for the door opening. I may need to go back soon and do something to achieve really tightening these hinge screws perhaps by putting minature shims like toothpicks into the holes or putting an adhesive into the holes because since I have DVD and CD players in the cabinet I will be using the door a lot. The cherry veneer is VERY thin and any bump can cause a noticable light color dent - so this is not a good choise for a home where it might ever get bumbed or scratched by children or pets. Packaging was OK though and there was no damages to the parts. The instructions were good but there is not an instruction on how to remove the glass door panel which is already installed in the door frame and insert the optional wood panel in the door - but that is not something I wanted to do. The smoked glass is tinted just enough to basically hide the equipment but light enough to be able to read the equipment graphics when they are turned on - just right. The top attaches with 4 plastic dowels which are a good friction fit but are not secure enough to allow moving the cabinet by lifting the top. I may just go back and take it apart and reassemble it very carefully using a urethane adhesive at all the joints to try to get it to remain solidly connected and perfectly square - so the door will fit perfectly and the top would be secured enough to be lifted. If I had paid full retail of about $600 I would be very disapointed but with the good price Abe's offered I am basically satisfied. [...] I would definately have bought a higher quality and more expensive A/V equipment cabinet had I found one with better apearance and the same size but this was the best one I could find for the size, capacity and look I wanted even after exhaustive searching. My equipment all fit inside perfectly and the depth is very good for all the wiring to be retained inside the back panel. [...]

This is the perfect size for my room. I needed something tall and narrow. It has a has a strong shelf on the bottom that holds my A/V amplifier without a problem. Although it seemed well ventilated, I found that I still needed to add more cooling - my TIVO overheated and shut down. I ended up cutting four holes in the back and mounting quiet 120mm fans. That did the trick for me. I should say that my A/V amp puts out an unusual amount of heat, so this might have been a problem that was unique to me.
It looks great in my room and I'm very happy with it.
