This is a wonderful set and I am very pleased. It is my first Flat Screen LCD and I love it! Abe's got it to me in no time at all! The HD is sharp and the sound is great. Easy to wall mount and easy to use! Everything is great with this Samsung! Highly recommend!

My old television was a 27" Sony about 10 years old. I couldn't believe the vibrant colors, the clarity of the pictures and the features such as adjusting the sound quality to either clear voice or movies on my new TV - even before the HD box was set up by Direct TV!. I would recommend it to all.

The TV is great, easy to set up with a great HD picture and OK sound. I was most impressed with Abe's. Their price was good, although not the lowest. The office called to verify the order and made an attempt to sell some add on's but they were not pushy, which I greatly appreciated. [...] I will certainly use Abe's again inthe future.

I don't usually do ratings of items, but I feel that anyone in search of a really good tv at a great price should consider this hdtv. This hdtv doesn't come with all of the bells and whistles, but you get an absolutly great picture! Thats the most important part of any tv. I have a panasonic zs3 digital camera that I hooked up and the hd movies that I have recorded came to life. Even the pictures looked better on my tv versus my computer!

We love the tv. We have it hooked up to a computer so we use it as a tv but also to surf the web. The only negative thing I would have to say about the tv is the connections in the back. We have it wall mounted and could not plug our hdmi cables into the back until I found an elbow to attach them with. Another flat screen we have in the house had a recess with the plugs going up into it rather than straight out. But other than that we love the tv.

This is my 2nd Samsung TV. The first model I purchased was the LN37A550 and it is a nice TV. However, after purchasing this one recently for another room in my house, I have to say that this model is much better. It looks great--the glass detail makes it look more high-end. The picture is what I expected, very good. The biggest improvement though is the SOUND. What a difference between models! I could not believe how much better this TV sounds--I did not expect there to be such a difference. I would highly recommend this unit. It is the best TV for this price.

To purchase a LCD TV, I researched and visited many websites and stores, and I found out that Abe's of Maine has a best offer. So far, I am enjoying my TV and cannot find any cons, Samsung did pretty good job.

I bought the TV for my master bedroom and am very pleased with the picture quality. I bought a blu-ray player (had to go with Samsung as well) and upgraded my cable to HD. I'm new to the HD world and I continue to be amazed everytime I turn on my TV. I love the hidden buttons on the front of the TV and how it has a little into music everytime I turn it on an off. It seems to build the anticipation when hearing it and waiting for the picture to pop up.

Purchased a wall mount kit and was disappionted when the screws that went into the TV weren't very secured. This is why I gave it only 4 stars. It seems as if there's only 3-4 fine threads to catch on to. I just hope I don't have to come home and see my TV laying on the floor. On the other hand, there is an alternative. The TV comes with a table top mounting stand that's made of glass and a very sleek design.

The only other downfall is that the HDMI cable sticks out of the right side so if you have a high gauge HDMI cable that's hard to mend, it might be showing a little bit.

With this product and previous purchses with Samsung electronics, I have to say that I am becoming a Samsung enthusiast. All their products are easy to use, great quality and have sleek designs.

The screen is not the shiny screen (like the LN40B650) which is a good thing; it doesn't reflect sunlight and therefore allows for watching in a room where there is light reflection. The SAMSUNG LN40B550 was installed in my place in an oak cabinet and the internal speakers are underneath the TV and pointed downward or something; the sound left me disappointed with my SAMSUNG HDTV experience. (My old cathode ray TV had 3 times better sound than the SAMSUNG). I see a TV as both a picture and sound experience without having to hook into an external sound system. I have a SONY Bravia that I am comparing to; the SAMSUNG sound just left me wishing that they could copy the SONY speaker system. I would recommend this SAMSUNG TV as long as you plan on using an external sound system all the time with the TV. I guess I didn't realize how lousy the sound was when I bought it.

I really like the TV. The free wall mount could be upgraded. No tilt ability makes it difficult to get it just right on your wall. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I own two Samsung LCD Televisions prior to purchasing the LN40B550. I own a Ln46A650 and a LN40A550. Both of these sets are heads and shoulders better in terms of picture quality! It was so bad in fact that tried to return the set in exchange for another LN40A550. [...]. Poor television [...]!

The picture quality of this TV can be stunning, but not for all sources. I was surprised to find that the local (Boston) news and PBS stations seem to have the best resolution, and national broadcasts like Face the Nation are inferior, even though the "Info" button display may show they are 1080i (no 1080p so far).

One disappointment is the Closed Caption capability. It isn't as good as in the 15-year-old Sony it replaces. I don't know how this TV compares to other HDTVs in this regard, but CC seems to work only if the TV is the source, i.e., using the cable coming directly into the TV. That means no CC for programs coming through the cable box or DVD player!

I also think that, with a TV this high-tech, the manual was a little on the sparse side. It could be much more thorough in explaining options in the menus, for instance, instead of simply listing the choices.

I reconfigured my basement to allow for a play area, and the ability to watch the play area when we have guests. To do this, I had to trade in my larger television, and to be honest, I don't miss it. The screen seems larger and the picture just pops at you. Although I have only had the tv set-up for a week, I have played dvd's, ps3, wii, watched tv, and attached it to a mac-mini for video conferencing. This was a phenomenal buy.
