This is my second Samsung TV and, while I was happy with the former one, the ln40c550 tops it in picture and sound quality. Worth every penny.

This TV has undocumented functions that you would find on a more expensive set.
When I bought this TV I was looking for the LN40B550. I then found the C series at Abe's of Maine. A quick Google search didn't bring up anything on this TV. However, the B series was getting rave reviews so I took a gamble. This gamble definitely paid off.
This TV was released in March of 2010. Apparently Samsung didn't update it's website to reflect this. A month later and you still can't find the it.
When I received the TV, I ripped it open and saw that it had LAN and USB inputs on it. Not what I was expecting.
Here's the cool part, that USB ports (2 of them) supports USB hard drives and thumb drives with no special setup required before hand. The interface isn't totally polished but I'm using it to watch movies and it's easy to navigate.
This thing supports DIVX, AVI, WMV, MKV, MPEG, MPG, and whatever else up to 1080p. That was a bonus I was not expecting.
You can also stream to the TV through LAN with a DLNA supported device but in my experience it would only play SD (480p) content in certain formats.
A con I have noticed on this TV is that some MKV HD titles have Audio-Sync issues. Not a deal breaker but it is annoying. It may just be the files I'm using, it has only happened a handful of times.
Image quality is what I have come to expect from Samsung. Picture Perfect. Well, I'm a bit partial because I own the TV.
If you are in the market for a reasonably priced, feature rich television, this is the one for you.
