This is a great TV for the price. I found it even better then the edge-lit LED TV's. Picture quality is not as good right out of the box, but once you adjust it, its awesome. Sound is not outstanding, but its not bad either. Well nothings PERFECT, but this is as close as it can be. Money well spent.

This is an awesome LCD TV for the price. I found it even better then the edge-lit LED's available. It doesn't have a good picture quality right out of the box, but once you start to adjust it's very good. Has good amount of options for picture adjustment and all connections that I required.

Our first HD TV. Great picture. Love being able to hook up to a computer and watch streaming video, too. Only negative aspect of this tv: the sound quality is somewhat below average. I'm thinking about hooking up external speakers.
But overall, great product.

My comparison is to a 27" Toshiba. Overall a very good TV, take's some getting use to. There is a lot more depth to the picture which is more life-like, sometimes too good. The black screen is great, especially when the room has some sunlight. Some movie action is noticeable jerky

Bought the 40" so it would fit in the cabinet. The picture quality is very nice. Had to adjust the smoothing mode as it made all shows look strange. The sound is not outstanding, but it's good enough for what we use it for. If you have it in a home theater you have nothing to worry about if you have a separate sound system. It has a bunch of settings for sound but we have not been able to find one setting that works for all types of shows we watch. Took away 1 star because of the sound, but other than that it has a lot of connections, very good picture, and nice look cosmetically.

I would only recommend larger LED models to my friends even though this 40" unit is adequate as replacement for the bedroom TV. LED is the way to go.
PS, if you look at it closely, certain still scene has very slight Banding problem.

This Samsung 40" LCD LN40C630 has great picture quality at an affordable price. I haven't seen a TV out there that can beat this picutre qualtiy at this price [$] The only draw back from the set and all sets is the sound quality. I haven't come acorss a set that has any decent sound quality. I also have a 60" Pioneer Elite Pro150HD which is out of this world and the speakers are just okay. I didn't care becasue I have an external sound system. I basically paid $7,500 for it two years ago just for picture quality. I love my Pioneer but for the price, you can't go wrong with the Samsung LN40C630. GET IT and you won't regret it!!!
