Purchased this TV to replace a 42" Toshiba Plasma that had developed a 4" x 10" vertical line in the plasma tube. We waited and did a lot of research and chose the Samsung. We were very surprised at the great sound from such a thin TV, it is 100% better then the Toshiba we replaced. See some of the white blumes talked about with LED TV's, but we have found it not to be a problem at all and unless I was looking for it because of reading the reviews would probably have never noticed it. Waiting on the 3D glasses as there are minimal 3D movies/shows out there right now, but as more become available we'll add them as well. You can't go wrong with this set!

Had a plasma that stop working after 8 years. The picture on the led is much brighter and colors are great.When using it on blu ray all angles of view are very good. However on regular tv I find if your sitting on an angle the picture is not so good. If you don't always watch on direct view, go with plasma

I really do love this TV. I had picked it out based on previous experience with Samsung products and the TV specs. Then went to a local store to see one, and WOW! I was sold.[...] it was well worth it. I highly recommend it. [...] System worked almost perfect straight out of the box. This is a great HDTV. The still picture quality is amazing! I'm still not too happy with Samsung's motion compensation technology. You can play with the setting and get it to a picture you want, but there is room for some improvement. I did get a bad SPDIF adapter, but ended up not using it.

Had for only one day when the picture began to flicker for about 1 hour then would stop. Called Samsung and they sent out a tech. who fixed it within about 15 minutes by replacing one of the panels on the back. Now we love it again. 3D is awesome just on regular TV channels with or without the glasses. BlueRay 3D movie Monsters vs Aliens was great. Pretty high priced; not only for the TV but also for the glasses. Also, Iwish there were more connection options so we could keep our Wii hooked up.

After about a year of TV research and reading all the reviews I could, I finally settled on the Samsung UN55C8000 about a month ago and I could not be happier with it. The picture is extraordinary and even when turned off it looks great mounted to the wall. The silvery titanium bezel matches the stainless appliances and fixtures throughout the rest of my house. The TV itself has tons of options and settings but its not overly complicated to use. I was very pleasantly surprised with the sound/speakers. I had always heard and read in other reviews that the LED TV's, because they are so thin, will have inadequate speakers and sound. This was not the case at all with this set. The volume setting goes from 1 to 100, and when watching regular programming such as a game or movie, I usually have it somewhere between 8 and 10 (out of 100). I once turned it up to about 30 and it was so loud we couldn't talk over it. I intended on installed surround sound in my ceiling but am seriously second guessing that now because the sound quality on the TV is so much better than expected, it's simply not needed. Overall I'm completely satisfied with this TV and couldn't be happier with its performance thus far.

I like a big picture and have this 55" TV at the end of my bed. The picture clarity is nothing short of amazing. I don't have 3D glasses yet, since there's currently very little material available. Even without the glasses though, there's a depth produced by this TV that I've never experienced before. It's taking a while to get used to. Not bad, just different. I suspect some people would be put off by it. It's incredibly thin and as such the internal speakers just aren't up to reproducing true low frequency sound. I like that it puts out very little heat. I was also surprised to find that it automatically adjusts the brightness depending on the ambient light - cool. I'd recommend auditioning one with a movie you're familiar with before you actually buy one.

To start off, my previous tv was a 35" tube that probably weighed over 300 pounds. Upgrading to this hdtv is mind blowing. Throughout the recent years as I've shopped for a hdtv, I've been constantly comparing the different brands and different types of tvs (plasma, hdtv, and led hdtv). I'm glad I waited for as long as I did because this is a great time to buy a tv due to price drops and technological advances.

To start off, they say that plasmas have darker blacks, better viewing angles, etc. Honestly though, I really cannot tell if the image quality drops off much if at all when viewed from the side at an extreme angle. The led contrast really makes the colors jump out. MAYBE plasma will still deliver stronger blacks and whatnots, but the trade off of a lot more heat and energy consumption isn't worth it for me. Ultimately, the design and color choice of the tv (the stainless steel look) makes this look like an expensive piece of technology and not just another tv with a plastic bezel. Even the stand can be praised as its not just a rectangular block you put your tv into. The remote is pretty nice. It also has the stainless steel look to it. Not only that, when it lights up, it feels colorful, and not stale with a singular color.

The extra features such as giong online, upgradable firmware, and plethora of ports (and adapters too for older tech) really make this tv a joy to use. Not only that, I never knew you could just plug a usb drive into the back of the tv and play videos right off it (I've only tested mkv, works fine). It could've been a feature that exists on all hdtvs, but at least you know it exists on this one.

Through all the praises, the only quibble I have with this tv is that when a computer is hooked up to via hdmi, the mouse cursor and keyboard input is slightly delayed by roughly 1 second. It seemed tolerable at first but it really starts to get in the way after a while. Luckily, the delay can be virtually completely removed by turning on game mode in the general options. The downside to that is that you lose the 240hz smoothing when game mode is enabled. It's not a big deal though, just turn off game mode when watching a video on the computer. Also, in order to get wifi you must purchase two additional antennas to connect to the back. A lan cable is a viable option if you're willing to put up with the cable hassle.

All in all, despite the minor complaints with very easy work arounds, this tv is worth its money from this website. Due to the rules I cannot list the price, but I can say that it's lower than your usual places that you'd be shopping for a tv at. Combine price with the beauty of the tv, you got a real winner. I haven't even talked about the 3D yet but I can't since I do not own the special glasses. I'm sure that feature is very nice also if I had the opportunity to experience it. Go buy buy now!

Although it carries a hefty price tag, this TV delivers. I have it connected to Dish Network and the HD quality is outstanding. I have not seen a better picture anywhere (friend's homes or stores). The free wall mount provided by Abe's was easy to mount and better than I imagined. There is only an inch between the wall and the back of the TV. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Good TV for the price. 3D ready...hooked up a Samsung 3D Blu ray player and mounted to wall. waiting till fall 10' till Avatar 3D is released (not enthused about the 2 3D movies available to[...] "monsters" & " Cloudy...meatballs)easy set up. Looking forward to more 3D releases that are not CARTOONS....Great TV

Great picture quality. Picture quality is better than any TV I have ever seen. However the TV stnad is poorly designed. Older models of TVs have a much better design and quality.

I am happy to have this unit.
Excellent picture quality ,friendly to use.
Most convenient and powerfull option of this unit reading External drives via usb port (flash,hard drive, and ...)
read all format to watch movies music and picture
The prossesor is very strong when he read digital files I was very impressive.
Usb reading most of digital files like avi. bd. divx 3,4,5,6 ,mkv, and much more.
I like the 3D . I check it in display room of best-buy store But not boutght the glasses is to expensive today and not standardized yet so this option is for future.
Only one think I am not like in this unit is a sound(for who understand).
But what can we expect from this so thin tv.
Just use your home theater depend to your listener level.

The C8000 is of superior quality, and thanks to the terrific pricing on Abe's...worth the price. I have had the TV for two weeks now, and it has met or surpassed all expectations. It is terrific for movies, sports, and general TV. Using HDMI connection with a Blu-Ray player is truly incredible. The different over traditional LCD TV's is significant, and noticeable. Not to mention the energy savings and the fact that the TV is light, and less than 1" thick. Due to the emergence of this new technology, and uncertainty of reliability (simply because it has not been around that long), I think the extended warranty is a prudent investment.[...].I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high-end TV experience.

the tv takes some getting used to, the picture is so good that you find yourself paying to much attention to the backgrounds and not the movie, for me it is not on purpose, the set up easy except for the internet sites you have to use a password for, I still am unable to get it to connect to facebook because of a samsung user id and password that you need have to get set up first and thay are still trying to a site to do it on. [...] bought into and got there warrenty and latter found out that samsung provides inhome warrenty for a tv this size (i should have read the sansung site about this before I bought it) but overall this tv is the best out there and you will not find a better price than here

The TV looks great. The picture quality -not so much. Even when i am watching HD channels the picture is not very clear. However ir looks so good when watching blu-ray dvds.
Haven't tryed watching any 3D movies. looking forward to that.

High Definition cable channels and Blu-Ray movies look great. The design is nice. The TV is thin and futuristic looking. The TV in 2D is really good. It has great color, contrast, and clarity.
The remote control is basic (you don't get the touch screen remote control - which actually bites). Samsung recently fixed their firmware issue with internet applications (Netflix, Blockbuster, etc.). So that's an improvement.
It's probably a good idea to hold off on the 3D glasses, etc., until more Blu-Ray 3D content is available. The 3D glasses, movie, and Blu-Ray player is expensive ($600-$700 extra). And this is just to be able to watch ONE 3D Blu-Ray movie cartoon. I would also recommend a sound system.
Even though I recommend this TV...there is a part of me that wishes I had waited until the 3D technology and content matured.
