The sound is a little on the weak side compared to all the display strengths of this unit. But, that is what a sounds system is for. Glad I grabbed the 52" version.

I have removed the stand, but I am unable to remove the stem that held the TV to the stand. The TV is therefore mounted on the wall with this silly little stump at the bottom that cannot be removed per instructions.

I upgraded from a Sony Wega, so this LCD is quite a step up. The picture is, of course, lightyears better than a CRT. Without a side-by-side comparison, I bet that most casual users cannot tell the difference between the models in Samsung's line. What anyone can appreciate, is a 52" screen. For the price of a leading edge LED, I can buy two trailing edge LCD's (a 52" and a 32"). The sound is lacking, but just search for optimal audio settings online. I have already recommended this TV to a friend who is enjoying his own LN52A550.

I use the tv 6 hours a day and I love the clarity. I have a room with 20 windows and the matte finish is good for not reflecting images from the outside. I do wish the sound was better. I hooked the sound up to my Bose system so that helped a lot.

Nothing I don't like about the TV. I do have it hooked to a surround system so I can't comment on the TV speaker performance. Bright, contrasty colors out of the box and even better with some fine tuning.

I looked at TV's for over 2 years watching prices and plasma vs LCD and wanted at least a 50" if possible. I loved some of plasma's but I wanted to run computer media center, internet and teens love video games and I thought LCD was best for these. I fell in love with this this Samsung and the reviews were all high praises. But lowest price I was finding was 1365-1499 plus tax. When I saw Abe's price [...] it was a done deal. This LCD is wonderful. The colors, details and clarity and over all look including the stand is just amazing for the price. It is perfect for home theater and you can pop in a flash drive and even ran my phone through the usb and playing mp3's, pictures and slide shows using the in TV interface with nice graphics and sweet options for searches. This TV is set for the future of integration of multimedia of all types. I bought the Samsung Blu-Ray 1600 DVD player which when put together with this TV can both be turned on with one push of a button and automatically chooses set up needed between the two and the media type you are using. Set up was a breeze. HD Tv programing is great and even basic cable is much better than I expected. I now have the home theater I had been dreaming of and at a price that beats every other deal I looked at. [...]The TV speakers are bearable but not equal to the stunning picture unless your watching the news. But honestly who is going to seek out a 52 inch screen and not put a surround sound speaker system with a sub woofer to complete the set up. So no loss of a star from me for TV speakers I never planned to use. This is a GREAT TV and able to do much more than flip channels if you explore computer hook up and if you get the Samsung 1600 Blu-Ray it even will down load net flicks from the internet and Pandora music .... [...]...... I'm Totally SATISFIED. THANKS ABE'S I WILL BE BACK.

We have it on the wall and absolutely love the HD channels that we watch. I can't imagine going back now. I am spoiled. Football and sports look absolutely amazing. I use my cable remote so can't say much about the TV remote. Also, I haven't looked into any of the features yet, probably because the settings seem great right out of the box (that and I'm lazy). [...] it was a great deal. You have to put it on the wall (no if's and's or but's). Get the help of someone you know (that has hopefully done it before) or else pay a couple hundred bucks to have it done. Also, get HDMI cables that are AT LEAST 8-10ft. 6ft will not give enough slack. You can get cheep HDMI cables online that work great. You WILL get ripped off if you purchase them at a store. Good luck.

My only complaint would be the lack of a S-Video connection on the back of the set. There is one on the side but it leaves the cables exposed. Other than that the product is great so far. Great picture,easy setup and easy operation.

Got the LN52A550 for about a month now. Everything is OK. Picture is good and impressive but the PIP can not select the Digital channels. This is very poor design feature. Very disappointed at the PIP feature.

Fantastic LCD TV, if you watch BlueRay DVD's with this LCD TV you would be blown away by the image.

HD channel's on cable look fantastic! SD channel's on cable look OK.

PC connection setup very easy.

Final Thoughts: I am very pleased with the Samsung LN52A550, I would highly reccomend this tv to anyone in the market of purchasing an LCD TV, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

And I would like to thank Abe's of Maine, especially Charles & Alvin for their help!

It's simply the best LCD period! Hands down. No exceptions!

Follow the online forum settings and calibrations and be happy. ;) !!!

I use it for HD cable, my Xbox 360 and my PC monitor!
