I hung this TV on the wall and was watching Direct-tv in about 10 minutes... Threw set up was super simple and the UI was really easy. I like the pre-set picture adjustments for cinema, sports and general, HUGE plus. Be prepared to see how "fake" most programs look in true HD, my wife made me turn our receiver down to 480I because on 1080I you could really see the shows set was just that, a set and looked really cheesie... Sports look amazing on this set and I love the red accent color on the edge of the unit. I really don’t know what Samsung did to improve the features of this unit compared to the "new" 850 that is out now, but I'm sure the picture quality was not improved on. Also, I looked at specs on 15-20 TV prior to purchasing this one and some of the plasmas had better specs but than when I went to Best Buy and checked out the picture, NONE compared to the Samsung. I love it for sure...

I set this TV up a week ago in about 20 minutes and WOW what an image. Very clear deep blacks and vivid color, HD Hockey, PS3 BlueRay are amazing. Any channel in HD is great Standard Def is not such a great match for this TV so far maybe I can adjust the setting but when hockey is not broadcasted in HD it looks pretty bad. Overall Love the TV very happy the quality. Highly recommend it. BTW, 52" seems twice as big as my old 46"

Changing settings in order to ellicit optimum performance is difficult for those unfamiliar with terminology. A method for callibration, saveable settings, and option to save custom name for devices would be nice. Remote response time could be a bit faster and viewing pictures could be easier.

I set up this TV for the Man Cave. It's by far the best TV for the money. The image quality is stunning, and color is spot on. I've been playing blue rays on it int it is just incredible, and its in a room that doesn't get much light so there is no glare. Ihe only issues I have are the remote response and the setting response. I seem to have to press a button 3-4 times before the TV picks it up (and yes, I've che ked the batteries). The other problem is response. It sometimes takes a while to find a signal. Not as annoying as the remote, but still an issue.

I can't say enough about the quality of the picture on this unit. The blades of grass on the Golf HD channel are remarkably sharp, fast moving action is crisp and precise and PS3 games look great as well. The "TOC" design with the clear acrylic overlay really makes this thing stand out. It's a beautiful piece of furniture. The remote has backlit buttons that automatically light up when you pick up the remote.
While Samsung did put a few connectors on the side of the set, they didn't put one where I could hide my HDMI cable if I mounted it on the low profile wall mount I got for it.
This is a super television that will not disappoint!

This TV is great. It's just the right model to get, since the 700 series has very few added features (just more thinness) and the 600 series has pretty big advances from the previous series (greater contrast ratio, quicker response time).

Generally it a great TV but I have one complaint, which is when I change from a source to Blu-Ray I get horizontal lines which appear and the only way to remedy it is to change from to a different video source and then back to Blu-Ray. OTher then that We love the TV

I like the red border. The TV is sleek looking. Even for being 52" it is only a few inches thin. I can't figure out the 120 hz fast-action function and fast motion does jump and track a little bit.

I found out about the Samsung LCDs from consumer reports, which rated them #1. [...] The picture is amazing..I also have a panasonic plasma, and the lcds are generally brighter with more "pop". The settings require a bit of tweaking to get it just right. I would reccomend turning off the automotion feature--it gives an unnatural 3D effect which is jarring. I use a home theatre for the audio, so cannot comment on the speakers. The set is lovely to look at--even when its turned off!

This product was rated #1 by consumer report. The picture is even better than I thought it would be. The high definition quality is superb. When watching some SCIFI channel shows it adds a lot of depth that makes it seem almost 3D. Sports on this TV look incredible. Very easy to set up and lots of connection options.

I did a lot of research before buying this particular set. It was best rated for the size, (being 52") it has a clear sharp picture, the sound is really good, none of the change in volume as you change chanels, it's like having a movie theatre in your home. We hung it above a fireplace and have two recliners we sit in to view it. We hung it a little higher than most people probably would, but from our chairs it's great!! Nothing in the room gets in the way of your viewing including people who walk by. The only drawback is when my husband sits down to watch, he is so engrossed in the set that it's hard to get his attention. I would recommend this set to anyone who is looking to purchase a larger set. I haven't found ANY not so great things about it yet. If I do I will certainly send a revised review. I use a 52" in my home theater and a 46" in the bedroom. They both provide incredible picture detail and image resolution. The color is absolutely accurate.
Sound quality is adequate, however since they are connected to separate audio systems that is a non issue.

Original owner of the LN46a650 and was in love with it but had to get something slightly bigger. Men don't need logical reasons for big, beautiful tv's. So just got the same exact tv just bigger. Setup was a snap. Make sure you have some HDMI cables for your cable/sat box. DVD if blue ray can use this too. If not blue ray then can use component or composite cables no trouble.

Picture is really great with 120 hz refresh. I researched this purchase thoroughly and decided on Samsung as a current leader in LCD technology. I got a smaller version for the bedroom where my spouse likes to watch TV.

HD picture has to be seen to be believed. It also handles non HD well. You will not regret purchasing this TV.

Some reviews knock the sound, but it is a TV and the sound is certainly loud and clear enough. If you want home theater quality you have to buy a home theater. You will have no trouble hearing or understanding any dialog or effects. It won't make your walls rumble, but IMHO that is asking far too much from an out of the box TV.

P.S. When setting up the TV you can by accident turn the TV far enough to unseat the power cord. Make sure it is seated firmly after attaching HDMI etc.

Very bright screen, lots of display options. "Black Hawk Down" played incredibly well at 24fps. Brilliant colors. Glare was minimal, even in a bright room. Would've preferred 4 HDMI inputs instead of 3, but that's my only complaint!

This Tv is used for home theatre and for Wii gaming. I found the auto programming to work incredibly well (finds channels quickly, deletes scrambled digital signals). It surfs channels easily using a channel list feature but the wheel on the remote doesn't move the on screen selector fast enough for my taste. The digital channels look incredible as do DVD's.

Studied every TV in the 52" size for 3-4 months before deciding on this TV. It has not disappointed at all. The picture quality is awesome especially when matched with the 2500 Samsung Blue Ray player. Go for the 52" instead of the 46". Big difference in scope of picture.It is worth every penny. After much research I finally pulled the trigger. I wish I had done it sooner. The picture is indescribable. It's like having the actors there in the room with you. I watch a fair amount of sports (especially hockey) and have seen no TBE effect at all. This unit is pretty much plug and play and I look forward to viewing my first DVD. We have a new home with a family room space. The Samsung 52 is perfect for us. It is a big image without being overpowering. It is clear, even with a sunny Southern exposure. Viewing angle is no problem. It was easy to set up, and even looks beautiful when it is off. This TV was a huge step up for us, and we couldn't be more pleased. My wife is glancing at football now, and the Food Channel is starting to look good to me. That's TV magic in our house.

I'm very happy with the performance of this 52" LCD. I did some research for a little over a week and found this was the HOT one to have. I looked at the Sony Bravia which is also very nice, Sony is would have been my second choice- after looking at both playing Blue Ray HD through a HDMI cord I had to go with the Sammy. Colors are saturated to my liking and the 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio at this price is hard to pull away from... This is the WOW factor. I haven't done a dead on calibration yet and everything still looks great. For the money you can't beat the performance of this set, yes you can move up to 7,8 or 9 Series but I think I got the best bang for my buck and all the features I will use. The speakers aren't the greatest but I planned on buying a home theatre system in the near future. If your hanging between Samsung and Sony you can't go wrong with either one, just do it. We also hung this TV on a swivel wall mount so we can turn it to view from more than one area, and we love it. We replaced a 5 year old 42 inch plasma, and we are blown away by the picture, the quality and the size. For us, this was money very well spent. Consumer reports is how we found this model to begin with.

Arrived in perfect condition. Setup easy, remote somewhat hard to use. TV worked great for 2 days then went out. Cut itself off immediately everytime you turned it on. Samsung's authorized dealer was an hour away and we were without our brand new TV for 2 weeks before it was correctly repaired. Very disappointing!

Fantastic picture. I was going to buy the XBR Sony 52" LCD but when I saw this model next to the Sony, I couldn't bring myself to purchase the Sony. This LCD looked much better and it also helped that it was much cheaper. It was a win win. You won't be disappointed.

Changing picture mode can be tedious but most everything else is excellent ,the built-in HD tuner is the best I've ever seen.Buttons used most often on the remote needs to be more accessible.

I love the appearance of the cabinet. It is very suttle, but just enough to show it's different.

The picture is clear and visable even in my bright living room.

Deep blacks aren't as pronounced as plasmas, but they are deep enough to produce strong contrasts to the bright colors it displays.

Best TV in it's price range on the market today, hands down!

This TV is in my living room making me a happy man. I used to have the Sony KDL-52XBR4, great TV in it's own right, but saidly, I tripped a made a nice dent in the LCD! So I went online and found this for almost $1000 less. The digital images are better than the Sony, sports graphics, etc. The overall image is at worst on par. However, the SD image is slightly worse than the Sony, but you should expect that with a TV over 46 inches anyways. Overall, the old Sony is still more expensive and the new ones are more than double this price. Best TV for the price per inch, hands down.

This TV is incredible. I have to say I wasn't used to the 120hZ processor at first. It made everything look like live TV, but now, I am used to it, and it amazes me every time I turn it on. Video games are amazing on this screen. The screen has a slight glare on it, but nothing to defer me from watching it. The bad part is the wheel on the remote, sometimes turning it does not make the tv respond, but if you click it, it works fine. LOVE THE TV! EXCELLENT PRICE! THANKS ABE'S!

remote control has issues with the buttons sticking... nearly impossible to use for certain channels containing Zeros, Three's, and Sixes... Called Samsung, and in five minutes had a new remote being shipped in the mail...

We use the set in our bedroom on its' attached stand and it's easy to turn it manually from a straight-on view from our bed,and no instability in turning, with about a 19-foot viewing distance and great clarity especially when using the HD channels. A wall mounting wouldn't be any nicer nor afford the flexibility of turning it almost 40 degrees so my spouse can enjoy it from her chaise-lounge.
I was not happy that neither Comcast nor my 2 sons who are very up-to-date on electronics could use the supplied HDMI cable, and had to use the component connections. My own hi-fi speakers were not useable instead of the unit's, and I would need a receiver attached of some sort. There should be some way that Samsung could have a suitable connection and mute the set's speakers.
Also, being in our 80's and not too conversant with the multitude of buttons on the remote supplied, we had to use for the most part the remote supplied by Comcast. After more than a few incidents where we could only get snow on the screen by confusing some of the buttons and 3 calls to Comcast for instructions and finally needing them to give us a hands-on session here, we at last are able to simplify our use of this attractive unit and enjoy it, Trying to find our way in the manuals proved too daunting.
In summary, I would endorse Samsung's unit and we plan to purchase another soon for our upstair's library, but a 42" size for a much shorter viewing distance of 10 feet. Hopefully by then we'll be more adept using the remotes

We have a few HDTV sets but this one is the best. Setup is simple and there are plenty of inputs for all the devices we have hooked up to it. Moving between devices is also easy. The picture quality is stunning and we have had no problems with glare like some of the other sets. We have nothing but praise for this product.

This TV is unbelievable. Just watch Transformers on BluRay and you'll know what I mean. There is nothing that compares to this TV in terms of quality.

Of course there are the newer series, the 750 and 850, however in terms of picture quality (which is all that really matters), they are equal. Unless you want all the bells and whistles associated with the newer series (hard drive, Infolink, etc), go with the 650.

We bought this set to replace a high end plasma in a very bright room. The plasma was terrific but simply not bright enough for this space. After comparing many sets we chose the Samsung for its brightness, contrast and deep blacks and for the ability to display action scenes and sports without stutter.

Got this set in June and I can't say enough good things about it. First off, if you're into watching sports in high def, the 120 hz refresh rate all but eliminates blur with fast paced action. Plenty of goodies and hook-ups for the electronics enthusiast out there, but the real value is the incredible picture quality, especially in high-def.
