We bought the television as a Christmas gift to ourselves just after Thanksgiving. For a few weeks it sat unopened hidden from ourselves so that we could "surprise"ourselves on Christmas. Then the requests came in from Abe's to review our purchase – long before we ever opened it except to see that it had not broken in shipment.

And surprise ourselves we did. I used to be more of an early adopter, but in time I saw too many early adoptions quickly passed by other technologies. Surprisingly, this is our first flat screen purchase. We are therefore much more in awe compared to someone who has lived with something more than a CRT tube – although we do watch videos, photographs and DVDs on a flat screen computer monitor. The picture blew us away. The blacks are so perfectly black that I even enjoyed watching white letter screen credits roll by on a black background. The colors are perhaps over vibrant. Everything is vivid and fresh. Last night I watched portions of a 1943 Sherlock Holmes film and the 1951 movie, An American in Paris. It was as if they were fresh films and that it would be possible to pass through the looking glass and enter the story, although the film techniques of the 1943 film were much more evident in high definition than I recalled them on the CRT television or in the theater.

I'm not a very technical or mechanical person. Therefore the idea of having to assemble the television – to mount the screen on a stand that had to be assembled – worried me, but the process was incredibly easy. In addition to the television, I recently bought a home theater system and got a new cable box. The three left me with a pile of manuals with many options. I'm still somewhat bewildered, although I'm wading through them. My hope is eventually to get most of the Blue-ray and television functions programmed into my cable remote. That has not been the easiest task.

It has taken me some getting used to setting the source with each experimental change, and I need to change the default for TV to the cable connection. Hopefully, with more reading, that will be mastered.

This morning, I put a camera disk into a USB reader and plugged that into the USB port. These were pictures from a vacation to rural China taken this year. I had seen all the pictures once on my 19 inch computer monitor and some of the pictures many times. I had lost interest in them. When I plugged the disk into the television USB port, I was newly captivated. My pictures were larger than I had ever seen them and still sharp. Seeing them made me want to go back to that area. I felt again like I could climb though the screen, but the colors were too saturated. These were the raw pictures (unenhanced by software). We compared the bright blue of a pair of blue jeans in the images to the faded blue of the same jeans today. The picture was more exciting than the reality. Now I want to see all my pictures again, but on the television. I fear, however, that perhaps the television can only handle 999 pictures, for the disk contained nearly 1500 photographs and seems to only show 999 on the television.

The faces in movies seem ruddier. The television seems to enhance colors as they did to my vacation pictures. I'm not sure whether that enhancement is a plus, and since I only recently took the television out of the box and started reading the manuals, I'm not sure how to correct for it.

I should not comment on the speakers. Great speakers cannot be made in such a small space. These speakers are like place holders so that you know what is being said and can hear the rhythms, but if you really want to be moved by the sound, you need external speakers.

No VGA input ports if you hav any old DVD players etc that you need to use with this tv. But other than it's a great tv!

I use this TV every day. Picture quality is outstanding in HD service and Blu-ray player. The sound isn't bad but it isn't the best as I suspect the intention is getting consumers to purchase the sound bar.

Really good set. Easy to setup on the wall. easy to setup and use. if you can click and browse you can master this TV. No complaints. I will buy here more often and ABE, I am send more people your way.

Also get the low profile mount from ABE's. It's so nice and easy to install. MINT!

This TV is great for solving difficult placement problems. The thin depth allowed me to place it in front of a cabinet and still look great, almost built in. Picture noticeably better than previous generation TVs, and standard settings don't go for overly bright/high contrast display.

Down side of thin profile is poor sound. We had to add external speakers to make the system usable.

This is a perfect monitor for Meeting rooms and presentations from Computer, power point presentation, videos etc. Great resolution and bright in direct sunlight as well. The LED back lighting really comes thru and maintains color definition. As for HD viewing it blows away Plasma and the previous LCD screen we have and makes the projection screen obsolete.You also saved me [$] from local retailers. Standard mounting bracket included works great, wiring was run into the wall and down into floor for a perfect clean wall mount installation.

This is an excellent TV for about $500 off what you would normally pay for it. I use the TV with the BD-P4600 Blu-Ray and the picture is amazing. I am thinking of buying the Samsung Soundbar that matches the TV to improve the sound. All stock sound on TV's isn't as good as a home theatre set-up.

The LED is like color versus black and white. It is so well lighted, pops out at you, almost looks three dimentional. The installers were so impressed and hung around watching and declared they could even smell the food, it was so good.
