We had an XBR6 that was fabulous. I gave it to my son to take to college and replaced it with the new XBR9. The TV is terrific as expected BUT Sony moved the computer hook up cables to the side. I liked them better when they were on the back and could fall behind the TV. Now you see then sticking out. I don't like that at all. Otherwise, this TV is wonderful.

The design and appearance is functional and attractive but not unique or outstanding. There are plenty of connections, including USB. The USB permits the viewing of photos (although they appear somewhat washed out) and music files -- but only MP3 files and the sound cannot be transferred to a stereo system. An SD slot would have been a useful addition. I have attached PCs via the VGA connection and the resolution is outstanding. Since I have mounted it in a cabinet, a swivel stand would be helpful to reach the side connections. A bit slow changing channels.

Could not connect my sony camera with USB. Pictures must be on flash drive to see. Computer to TV HDMI connection does not worka and sony was not much help in this area.
Picture is good and sound too.. I think extra you pay for XBR name is not worth it.
takes too long to see picture on tv screen.

The Sony KDL-32XBR9 is fine and "State of the Art" but I was also looking for one to fit my Living Room Bookcase and would accomodate the Sony DAV-HDX576WF Home Theatre system I purchased to install with this set. Because of a 1" lack of space in width of the bookcase, I am now looking for a Sony HDTV LCD 1080p which could fit nicely into this enclosure which means a TV set of no greater width then 30" would be required. The heigth is not as restrictive as the width from side to side when measuring the wodth of the set when viewing the screen. I would appreciate any information received for this search... I use this tv in my bedroom. I have a secondary dvr. I have a sony 52in rear projection in my living room. I am finding that I am watching the Bravia more since the picture quality is incredible. The only problem that I encountered is using the HDMI cable instead of the 3 cable system provided with my cable box. Its also a little trickly with remote codes for the cable box, the actual code does not work to well, so I am using a different code that is used for a combo set. But it is worth the quirky set-up since the picture just jumps out of the tv.
