Did lots of research since my bedroom TV gets "most" of the use. That said I have 20 TVs in my home, Runco, LG, Pioneer Elite and Sony. This Sony is set up with a Creston control so I cant comment on set up or remote. But the end result of a fine crisp high quality HD picture I can attest too. I am very happy with this Sony. Its 40 inch picture and little wasted space on the frame allowed me put this TV in a smaller space than other models.

I use daily. I like the size (40") and style. Sound without home theater speakers was a little weak until I found out how to adjust them. Over all, I am very satisfied with this TV.

In my opinion the Sony Bravia XBR series continues to lead the pack for picture quality. This is my 2nd XBR. 1st was a 46" XBR4.

We never knew what we were missing in viewing TV and movie DVD's until we turned on this TV. The set-up was totally simple and the picture is wonderful.

Comments about SONY KDL40XBR6 40" BRAVIA XBR 1080p LCD HDTV:
I read plenty of reviews before buying the 40" XBR6. It fits (just barely) in a $2000 Ethan Allen armoire I bought way back before wide screen televisions. All I can say is ignore the stuff you hear about yellow tinting and all that stuff. If you are a normal user, this will knock your socks off. I did adjust the backlight down from the factory preset, and I don't use the light level sensor. Black levels are pretty good, especially if compared to a picture tube. The transition from bright to dark subject matter is pretty even due to the 10 bit video processor, much better than some sets I saw (less banding).I looked at the "Z-series" Sonys, as well as other brands, but this one looks better in my opinion. Finally, there is something to be said for the x.v color - it is truly amazing the hues that come out of this thing. I use a terrestrial antenna only, and receive HD broadcasts from several stations. You can definitely tell when the camera they are using for the news is not HD, versus the one in the studio that is. Like I said, unless you are super hard core about TVs, I cannot see how you would dislike this one. Only "gotcha" is that you need a better audio system than the internal speakers for the full effect, but hey, that's every HDTV I've seen. Now if I can just scrape up the dineros for that HT-CT100.[...]

We are very please with the Sony XBR 40" LCD TV. It was easy to set up and works great. We were also extremely pleased with working with Abe's of Maine to purchase and ship the product. Our customer service representative (Sal) was very knowledgable and terrific to work with. While I was reluctant to purchase a product of this nature online, Abe's of Maine restored my confidence. I would certainly buy another similar product from them in the future.
