The TV has problems with picture brightness. Sony attributes that to a problem in the software... Had to download and install new software AND not use certain functions to make it work at all...

I am a handicapped person with restricted mobility and spend many hours at home. This TV is greatly appreciated. However, there is one thing about it that bugs me a little. The channel selector is slow and clunky. You would think that a company that built hand controls like Sony does they would be able to build a channel selector better than slow and clunky. It may be only a software update that can fix this but since it doesn't actually restrict operation I doubt I'll see it.

I bought this LCD for my bedroom the overall performance is great. The only thing I was not pleased with was the lack of explanation that manual has for its various functions.

After viewing LCD tvs for the past few years, I decided to take the plunge and get a set for myself. I have looked at many sets at family and friends houses, as well as read the reviews and window shopping at the stores. I decided on this set because of its high contrast ratio and 120hz refresh rate. Generally it is a nice TV, but not so superior to a lot of less expensive sets that I would buy one again. As a matter of fact, if you can get a good buy on the previous generation of Sony sets, don't hesistate, as the performance vs the cost is not high enough for me on this set to go this route again.
