The bezel is a little larger then I was hoping for, but the TV picture quality is excellent. THX mode should only be used ina dark setting for movies.

I bought this specifically to watch movies on blu-ray and dvd. I have it hooked up to a Panasonic sc-bt100 home theater. It is an excellent system for watching movies. One of the reasons I bought it was because plasma has a better viewing radius than lcd. I found this to be the case as the tv can be viewed from any angle without a loss of picture quality. Even satellite digtial transmissions in 480i are very clear.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a videophile. I'm just an average Joe. And this is my first HD tv, so I don't have any frame of reference other than my friends' tvs. But at this point, I couldn't be happier with it. Picture quality is incredible. So good, in fact, that you will be able to spot flaws in the signal coming in. The reason I know it's the signal and not the tv? Blu-ray. Crystal clear. You may just [*] your pants. The only thing I would change is additional brightness in the THX mode. However, you can tweak the Custom picture mode to give you good color accuracy and contrast with additional brightness. So, I use the THX mode in a dark room, and the Custom mode in a lit room. No big whoop.I did a month's worth of research on which tv I should get, comparing everything. You need to carefully understand your own personal set of 'user needs' for a tv, then dive into the reviews and stats that are readily available. Looking at them in the store can be very misleading. Consult several sources to weed out any potential biases or idiots.
