This is a great TV. The bright colors you get from it are amazing. I am very happy with my purchase. 54" is a the perfect size for my living room.

Could use more fine conrols for calibration. Looks beautiful on bluray. The perfect TV if you have no need to do advanced calibration.

The 54" Panasonic Viera S1 is the center of my new home theater. The image is bright, clear, sharp as a tack in HD, and just beautiful. Great blacks and no "ghost trails" in action sequences. The internal speakers are "ok". The "out of the box" color settings were pretty good, but I think the reds and greens could use some tweaking. Setup was a breeze: unpack, install 4 screws, and set it on the TV stand. Power on practically leads you through the mercifully short configuration. Panasonic does a great job here. 3 HDMI inputs, one is on the side, SD card, and PC input are more than I need as the AV receiver handles most of the work of redirecting all of the home theater components for me. The remote control is nicely layed out and not too complex. Nice touch: the Panasonic Blue Ray player can also be made to work with the Viera TV so you can ditch one remote. I love the TV. Only minor con is that if you have window reflecting in the screen, it can be distracting. Not a problem at night, and this is an almost universal problem. The S1 doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the higher end models, and if you are building a home theater, then you don't need them anyway!
