Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

This was my 1st large purchase over the internet and I was a little worried. There was a little miscomunication with the trucking company, but other than that everything went smooth. The only complaint I have is that there is a power button on the back of the TV that needs to be turned on when you get the TV. However I could not find anything in the startup book about it and thought I had purchased a bum TV with no warranty for about 20 minutes until I found it.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

As a custom installer this plasma is the mecca of all tv's, yes I'm a little bias, because this is my second pioneer plasma. No burn in. Great set up.

FYI to clear up any pioneer questions that they no longer are going to make plasmas, not true. They are going to still be making them but only authorized custom installers are going to have access. That's straight from my rep.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

The picture is nothing short of stunning. I have the Kuro connected to a Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-Ray via a Parts Express 24 guage silver plated conductor high quality HDMI cable with a Tripp-lite ISOBAR ultra providing the power. The results are spectacular. The blacks are so good that it can be tough to tell where the screen ends and the edge of the faceplate of the tv begins. The result is very close to three dimensional. Highly recommended.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

I bought this TV after extensive research, and I'm not disappointed by it. The HD picture quality is gorgeous, with fantastic black levels and beautiful colors. It doesn't have all the picture tweaking features of other TV's, but it doesn't need them (in my opinion). There is enough there for the casual- to enthusiast-level user to customize the picture from any input. The only thing that keeps this set from a 5 star rating is it's SD picture quality - standard television looks like something akin to worn video tape. However, just tune to the HD broadcasts, Blu-Ray movies, etc., and you will be blown away by the picture. Get 'em while you can since Pioneer has just announced they are getting out of the plasma display business - you'll have a hard time finding as good a picture on any other current TV.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

I am going to wall mount this unit. I have not doen so yet. It was purchase to replace another Pioneer unit, a two piece Elite system with proprietary cables that make wall mounting difficult. I am very impressed with the new set. Pioneer plasmas, including this one, are in my opinion the best tv's available. I am the type to prefer just a monitor but you get a lot of bells and whistles these days that you needlessly pay for. I think this unit is a good compromise between an Elite with a lot of features you may never use and the high quality of a Pioneer plasma. I have not done any set up, either myself or professionally (no time) so I am running the factor default settings. BluRay and standard DVD's on a BluRay machine are stunning. I got DirectTV about the same time I purchased this unit and the picture is in my opinion a little faded but it is not due to the set, but rather DirectTV in my opinion. This is based on my DVD/BluRay viewing experience. I would by this tv again, and in fact I am going to do that for another room in the house. Note: when setting up there is a master power switch that must be engaged. My other Pioneer did not have this. When I un crated it and got it all set up I could not figure out why it would not power up. There I was, I thought, starring at a dud that somehow I needed to get back into the crate! Finally figured it out.

Very highly recommended.

Worked great for 6 days. Then would not turn on. Spoke with Pioneer, they said this is a common problem and they would cover the repair. That said, I am told that the repair will take up to 2 weeks. Not great in the middle of playoff football...ARG!

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

“This 60-inch 1080p Pioneer is among the best plasma sets available, with top-notch picture quality and the deepest blacks we've ever seen from a plasma or LCD TV. Although pricey, it delivers an extremely high level of performance to those who are willing to pay for it.” To quote Consumer Reports….what more can I say, other than buy it from Abes of course. This is the best on the market today…and 2008 is the last year they make their own plasma screen. So you might wish to buy now to ensure getting the higher quality screen! Remote is a little awkward, but no big deal to me.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

If you can live with the minimum color control options, this is the best plasma on the market.

Need to connect to a high end sound system for a perfect experience. The included speaker is not adequate.

Comments about PIONEER KURO PDP-6020FD 59.58" Plasma TV:

[...] PROS:-What can I say the pictures are excellent and the black levels is unmatched by any plasma or LCD out there. -It has tons of features and connectivity options.-Did I metion black levels... I watched several movies again and its like I'm seeing it for the first time.Cons:-The sound from the speakers are ok. -It does give off a little bit of heat.-My electric bills did go up a little but no big deal.-Expensive... but you do get what you paid for.Overall this is the best TV besides the ELITE(crazy expensive) out there, I'm very happy, just remember to properly break them in. After the break in period, no image retention or burn in even if I watched ESPN and play video games all day.
