Do yourself a favor and buy this TV!!!! You don't have to get the Series 7 (touch of class). The PN50A550 is just as good and cheaper. In fact Consumer Reports,rated this TV as #1.The picture is awesome!My son uses his WII(580 signal) and the picture still looks great.I'm a movie person and the Blu-ray movies are jaw-dropping.Regular defintion TV even looks above average. If you feel the 58" is justified for the extra cash,go for it! I wish I did. Forget LCD, Plasma rules!It is complimented well by ultilizing the cheap Samsung 1500 Blu_ray, around $200.00.. It's nice that you can use the TV remote to conrol the Blu-ray.The one negative was the sound. Since the speakers are down firing, the sound output is comprised. But, like most people, I will be using an Home Entertainment Theatre( so negative solved).One disappointing thing,which has nothing to do with Samsung, is that the a Fios box/converter and TV remote are incompatable. Fois doesn't provide a code to this unit to rid yourself of having to use the Fios remote to turn the TV on/off.I found this strange since Samsung is one of the top sellers.But over all, This is a excellent TV.I bought my TV/Blu-ray from Abes of Maine [...]and I got the combo for a great price.But, when I decided to upgrade to the 58",he said they don't except returned TV's. That was understandable. That's one one good thing about your local retailer.You probably could return it,too upgrade.Overall,my family and I are very satisfied, except for the me. I wanted the extra 8"!

This TV has has gorgeous quality picture, excellent sound and great features. It is easy to use and looks sleek and attractive. Only one drawback, I had heard this was possible and it turned out to be true -- there is a moderately loud hum when the TV is on. If turning on the TV itself, you may not even notice it. However, if you use a single remote to control all systems (TV, cable box, DVR, etc) and the "power off" button does not actually turn the TV OFF, you will hear the hum even when the TV is not in use.

Overall I my wife and I are very pleased with the Samsung plasma. I haven't bought a TV in a long time and was nervous at first but our worries have been taken care of with this great product.

This TV is a great value at Abes of Maine! Best price that I found anywhere. [...] When it first arrived I didn't have an HD receiver yet and the picture was still great with SD signal. After receiving my HD receiver I was blown away. Some people complain about the speakers but if your going to invest in a high def TV you should already have an audio system to use with it. This is a non issue for me. Also invest a couple bucks and get HDMI cables, not from store fronts but online. Stores are way over priced and you can find good HDMI for $2 - $15 online that are just as good as store bought $120 cables.BUY THIS TV! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

For everyday TV watching (including HD) and DVDs, the picture quality is great. Controls and setup were easy to use. I love this TV and I'm sure I'll enjoy it for quite a while.

Installed in our newly finished basement, and I can easily control the lighting as there is only one small window. Picture is superb! We've had the TV for 6 months now and I'm still very impressed. I do run the audio througha stereo system, so I can't comment on the TV speakers. IMO, best value for the money by far.

This Samsung plasma is in an attractive black unit. It has an impressive picture, sound quality is fine, it set up easy and although I've only had the unit a few weeks, I am impressed.
One comment is that the unit does emit a lot of heat; not bad in the winter but it could be a problem in the summer.
