I use this T.V. for blue ray movies, HD T.V.,video games (Wi) and to show digital recordings.
The colors are amazing and brighter than anything I've ever seen. You can see the difference between pink, fuschia, magenta and purple so easily. Blue Ray looks fantastic! HD T.V. also looks extremely clear and sporting events are great. (You can see the fuzz on the tennis balls) Scores are easily read. 58" is large enough to feel like you're at the movies but small enough to keep the living room as a living space as opposed to a theater. Set up took about an hour by myself and I hooked up a blue ray, cable, dvd recorder and a surround sound system along with the Wi.
Sometimes almost see too much detail like make-up on actors or stains on clothes.
I love this T.V. It has PIP which can be adjusted for size, location and sound. It has a zoom feature that adjust screen size and shape. I've only had it for a week and am still discovering more features.

Awesome TV all around. Rich and deep colors that you would not get with an LCD; great for anything I watch. Do not expect to really see the touch of color. It does not light up like most think and it's very subtle.

The only thing I didn't like was that the site failed to mention that the refresh rate was only 60Hz rather than 120Hz, but the picture is still awesome. I would recommend this TV to anyone. You can't beat the price from Abe's. Their sales person was a little pushy to get the warranty, but I think it is a reasonable argument for the investment made.

How about the bad, then the good. This set did not work right out of the box. From day one, it would shut itself off after about 20 minutes. After a couple days, it began to just shut off the sound or just shut off the video rather than everything going off. The remote was always unresponsive during this time. Samsung was good about getting us a repair person in about one week. The person came, installed three new parts, reassembled the set and it has worked well since. I worry that this may predispose the set to failures after the one year warranty.
We use the set for regular TV watching, blu-ray movies, and plan to use for slide shows, home video watching. Aside from the initial problem, the set has been excellent, though difficult to learn at first. There are numerous settings that need to be adjusted properly for optimal performance and color shouldn't be calibrated until after a break-in period. It seems that this is 100-200 hours ideally. The set is extremely heavy at about 140 lbs (stand included), but this isn't really an issue for us. The picture is fantastic and there is essentially no motion blur whatsoever.
Overall, we are happy with our set, but recommend the extended warranty.

I'm a big sports fan so watching football on a 58" plasma with HD is unreal. You can't go back to watching regular TV after this. The picture is vibrant, and the lines are so clean. My friends have been blown away by the picture of the tv being so clear on such a large screen.

This TV is a must have for anyone looking for a great Plasma TV at a not so bad price. This TV blows Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, and other top brands out of the water. Believe me on this, I compared them all side by side before I made my decision. And a very good decision at that!

You need two people to set place the TV in the location you want, but once its there, it looks great. I have it in a 18x40 great room and the picture is sharp and clear from one end of the room to the other.
