OK. I worried it into place with angle iron channels, 3/4" plywood and 6 bolts locked in between studs: |[--xxx xxx--]|

But now our 52" Samsung can swing around 270 degrees and move in/out smoothly without a concern about anything failing. Just do it...

In the passed i have bought many plasmas and lcds and on one of my tvs i have an old articulating mount that i bought at my local store. I always had the problem of swinging the tv from right to left. wasnt smooth. I invested in this puppy and its great. took me 10 min to install with a friend.

The wall mounting section is only 16" long from outside hole to outside hole. This means you have no choice as to where you would like your TV in the room. It must be located on the studs, or you have to be willing remove the dry wall and install blocking between the studs (big negative). Another Con is that the bracket sags over and inch when TV is placed on the bracket. The TV once placed on the backing also tilts when the tv is installed on the bracket.
