Comments about SAMSUNG HL61A750A 61" DLP Projection TV:

Because this uses DLP, a rear-screen technology which has been dropped by all manufacturers but Samsung and Mitsubishi, the price is great for the size. And this was an Editor's Choice at cnet.com (4 stars). My only complaints, not having had a set above 32 inches before, is that when viewing sports, the high definition, though crystal clear on close ups, seems to be less sharp overall compared to my smaller HDTV. Also, I haven't been able to figure out how to work Picture in Picture. So I am going to have to call Samsung, which is a pain I'd have liked to avoid. And though this is not a complaint, because with a set this side you shouldn't be relying on the TV's own speakers, you will need to invest in some stereo speakers for great sound. One final thought: I recently watched an HD DVD of "Transformers." Despite no being in high definition, the picture was excellent, good enough that I will probably rent "The Dark Knight" rather than waiting to buy a Blu-Ray player for the optimal experience.

Used as our main entertainment device. Connected to Cable TV, Home Theatre, VHS, DVD, & Blu-ray. Had more than enough connections for all of the above. Stunning picture! LED light engine means no burnt out lamps or $300 replacements.

Comments about SAMSUNG HL61A750A 61" DLP Projection TV:

This LED DLP was rated #1 by Consumer Reports with better picture than LCD or Plasma. After seeing it I couldn't agree more. It is stunning. I did a lot of research before buying and am glad I took a chance on the LED DLP. No lamp to burn out and LEDs last life of TV. Can view it well from 70 degrees left or right. Deep blacks and great color. Gets 3D as well. Must buy a Samsung 61" or 65" to get the LED model and that is the only DLP I would ocnsider. [...] Only weighs 70 lbs. so you and a big kid can unpack it yourself. [...]. Overall this purchase exceeded my expectations.
