I bought this HDTV about 4 months ago. The HDTV was meant for a home theater room andafter reading various reviews including that one at [...] I think I made a right decision to buy this Samsung HDTV. The picture quality on this HDTV is nothing less than amazing. The images and colors in High Definition almost jump off the big 67 inch screen. I also have a 32" 720p Sony LCD, a 32" 720p Panasonic LCD TV, and a 50" 720p Toshiba Plasma. With a 1080p source, even though its hard to compare the different TV sizes, I must admit the picture quality surpasses both of my LCD HDTV sets and definitely rivals the plasma TV. You won't see the truecapabilities of this Samsung HL67A750 until you get it set up in your home. When I was looking at this set at the seller, I thought the picture quality was nothing special. The way most of the lighting is set up in the HDTV stores, does not due DLP justice. This was the only reason I was hesitant on buying this HDTV set. The sound quality is quite good, but then again I only use this Samsung for regular TV viewing. Everything else (Video Games, BluRay andDVDs…) I have through my Onkyo Surround. Now for the negatives.. There are also some minor disadvantages but not worth to be mentioned, Overall, I couldn't be happier with this HDTV . The picture is simply amazing for its size. This HDTV has left me much more satisfied than any TV Set I have ever bought. Highly recommended!

This TV is a really great deal for someone looking in the $2,000 or less category. I looked at well over a dozen TVs at various retail stores and this one had the best picture for this price point. I got it home and everything worked so easily and the picture was very clear. Once I hooked up my Blu-Ray, my only regret was that I didn't own this sooner. This TV weighs less than my brother's Samsung that is about the same size and is a plazma. He spent over twice what I did just cause his hangs on the wall. I think my picture is better than any until you get way over this price range. The only very minor problem because this has only happened very rarely, is that there is some sort of known software issue that causes the television to turn on or off on its own. I probably get a power spike as often as this rare occurrance so I just hit the power button and it's a non issue for quite some time. Wierd issue, but if that's all I see, I can totally live with it. This thing has completely changed my movie viewing experience without breaking the bank too badly.

With the 1080p resolution and blu ray, movies are fantastic when played through home theater. Showing pictures from a flash drive makes an impact not matched by anything. Using the laptop and the pc connection gives a whole new dimension to powerpoint, overwhelming! I compared several brands and plasma & LCD, but this DLP takes a back seat to none.

I use this mainly for watching cable tv and monitor for my mythtv box. We like big screen and not care much about the picture, as long as it's acceptable. This TV's picture is great though, so no complaints. I put 4 stars, since the first day when we watch TV, something in the TV popped and it smelled like burning plastic. The TV keeps on working though. I called Samsung and they said basically 2 options: do nothing or schedule for service call. However, since the TV seems fine, if the technician can't find anything wrong with the TV, he might choose to charge us, since Samsung won't reimburse warranty for a service call with nothing to fix. So I opted for the 1st way. So far it's fine and the smell is gone and nothing popped ever since. It's just worrisome. TV is great otherwise.

PROs:
The TV's picture is very nice. When you get HD hooked up, it's a thing of beauty. In my opinion it looks just as good as LCD and plasma. You can also get better blacks then you could with LCD.
The TV has a nice design and it isnt very heavy or thick for how big of a TV it is. There are many options to change the picture which is nice to have as well.
CONS:
The sound of the TV isn't all that great. Very average. This really didnt matter to me because I hooked up a sound system to it anyways which is probably what almost everybody does with a TV this size and quality.
The other only drawback I can think of is viewing the TV from a side, which is what all projection TVs like this have. With a TV this size its not really a problem because you can easily set up the room to have this eliminated.

Overall:
A very good TV and great price. I did a lot of reseach before I bought this TV and this one cant be beat. Highly recommended. You wont be disappointed.

The large screen with it's beautiful color and HD pucture clarity makes you feel like you are right there--for example, like you are on the sidelines at the big football game. Scenery and animal programs are terrific also. With an added surround sound system, you really feel like you are a part of the action. The only slight drawback occurs when you change viewing positions...the picture brightness changes depending on where you are sitting or standing. If this is a problem for you, just sit back, relax, and enjoy from the same position throughout the performance...you'll love it!

-We use the 67" for general TV viewing, DVD's and playing Wii.Great picture, choice of picture size/format depending on the program.Fast and easy set up with HDMI cables. However ours took longer as we conected our home theater system to it, but it was worth the extra time, now the sound is awesome.

Before making my decision to purchase this particular TV I had read every professional and consumer review I could Google. Discounting the usual sour grape reports some seem to feel duty bound to write about anything and everything they buy, I have to report that this TV exceeds my fondest expectations. So I had to plug the power cord into the back of the TV and then into the wall and I had to install the batteries in the remote control. Hey, nothing is perfect. I had originally started out looking at LCDs but after viewing all technologies at [...], opted to save over a thousand dollars on this projection model from Abes of Maine. The picture is equally sharp, colors are just as bold and the blacks are a little blacker. Almost 7 foot wide, it weighs in at less than 90 pounds and is less than 20 inches deep. We have it connected to a digital cable box and the picture is fantastic. Even non digital transmissions look great. I installed it myself, and as per my usual modus operandi, I hooked it up first and then read the instructions to prove myself. It was that simple. It needed no tweaking to achieve a desirable picture but if I had had to adjust anything, it would have been simple enough with the easy to understand and use on screen menus. We are definately sold on Samsung and would recommend this TV to our friends. Even our enemies.

I am very happy with my purchase. This is a awesome HDTV for gaming and movies. My only complaint thus far is the set will not pass multi-channel digital audio through its digital audio output, i.e. XBOX 360 connected via HDMI.

I replaced a 61" Toshiba DLP that had 2 blown bulbs which was the main reason I picked this tv over other rear projection units (the LED bulb). It looks great. I was a bit worried about viewing angles, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. So far I think the tv is great.

This TV is one of the best values I've purchased ... in anything. I checked out the reviews carefully before making a decision. My primary concern about going with DLP was in how the image would look from an angle, but we don't see serious degradation in the image unless we're way off to a sharp angle. It went into our large family room, and it fits it perfectly. The picture quality when watching Blu-ray is stunning, and everyone comments on it. My brother-in-law has a 42" LCD, and he thinks the image on this is sharper.

I was also concerned about possible glare, since the room is bright during the daytime, and there are two windows on the opposite wall. But the picture is exceptionally bright. In fact, I went into the settings and tuned the brightness down a bit. Glare has not been a problem. With the lights turned low at night while watching a movie, it's like sitting in a theatre ... without the distractions.

I'm very happy with our choice of this set.

Sure Plasma and LCD provide great pictures but for $5k - $7K at the same screen size, forget about it! DLP is much less expensive with the same great picture quality. HD broadcasts are flawless!! Football, Basketball, hockey, golf, all great. Blue Ray movies are da bomb! Hook a decent surround system up (which is all too easy with the multiple HDMI inputs) and you're in heaven! Don't get caught up with the Jones', flat panel plasma and LCDs are fine if you want to impress your tech friends, but impress everyone with the picture quality and price of the DLP!

For the money and if you have the depth for this DLP Projection TV, you will not be disappointed with it's amazing picture, color fidelity and black levels. Great picture out of the box but worth spending extra dollars for professional calibration.

overall pleasently suprised. Picture brigh teven in daytime. off center view for my viewing sufficient. Picture brightness sensitive to the viewing height. I had a problem using HDMI. I play music out of my cablebox through the receiver.Everytging is HDMI connected: TV, Receiver, cable box. Normally I don't have the TV on when playing only music. That would not work with this Samsung on input HDMI 1. But the good news it works on HDMI 2 and HDMI 3.

Great picture, even decent sound, and never a bulb to replace. It still suffers from the random power cycle problem, even though mine is a newer firmware revision.
