I purchased this stand to go underneath by 52" TV that's mounted to the wall. The quality is excellent- glass is tempered. Assembly is easy with a (supplied) allen wrench. [...]

Looks beautiful with our new 46" LCD TV and there's even room for more add-ons. Very stylish and heavy but all the better because so many other TV stand reviews say how unsteady they are and with this one you don't have to worry about peeling laminate. The openings for the wires in the rear are perfect and no clutter.[...]

Comments about SANUS SFV49 Widescreen TV AV Stand:
This excellent all metal and glass stand holds my 52" LCD tv. The glass shelves are thick and heavy. The two lower shelves and top shelf all rest on the steel frame (with small rubber pads as dampeners). They do not hang from flimsy tabs as other stands I've seen. I think I could stand on the top shelf and nothing would happen!
The unit I recently received from Abes came with FOUR HOLES and not two like the ad shows. This made wiring so darn easy... And the metal mesh grate in the rear hides all the wires... Nice design feature! The height of this stand brings my LCD to a level that is closer to where it should be than a taller stand I had and which was not very good. This Sanus stand is just about as wide as my LCD tv. Personally, stands that are substantially narrower than the tv look makeshift and kind of silly. But that's just me.
Overall, nothing I could find in stores or online could match the features of this stand or the price. The only minor quibble I have is the semi-gloss black finish must be handled with care when assembling it or else it could get scratched. I assembled mine on a carpeted floor.
As for assembly, the only tool needed was the hex wrench that came in the parts bag. During assembly, I had trouble aligning the rear panel with the front panel until I loosened the machine screws that I had tightened previously. It did take some time to peel away (by hand) the foam wrapping that was around all of the frame pieces.... The only dimensional problem I ran into was placing my Onkyo amp on the 2nd shelf. it was a slight bit of a tight fit from top to bottom... But fit it did... Also holds my DVD player, hd cable box and XBox too.. Bravo Sanus!

We were looking for a stand that looked great yet held all my husband's components. This was it! It looks fantastic and easy to put together. Sturdy.
Only thing missing would be casters but couldn't find a nice stand with them.
It looks like it was custom made for our new TV.
