This is a very good housing however the biggest drawback to me is the lack of controls to access more of the camera's features. I like the fact that I didn't have to fight with camera at depth to hold it steady because of bouyancy. The weights will help but I was still able to manage the camera and keep steady. The housing also is capable of accessories that will make it a very good platform for many underwater photographers/videographers. Yes, the price has alot to do with it! Also the camera housing room for a larger battery but be careful. The BP-819 will fit but the larger BP-827 will not fit. If you own a HF200 or HF20 and want underwater videos/pictures, buy this housing.

A great design for an underwater housing - much less bulky than the average housing. I just wish it had a Menu/Func button so all of the cameras functions could be accessed underwater. The other buttons and levers work well, and the case is easy to handle underwater, which is nice when you already have lots of bulky gear hanging off you.

As an avid diver and underwater photo/videographer and instructor, this housing made it possible for me to put together a nice HD rig on a small budget... nice work Canon!

Well worth the investment. Very economical compared to other housings on the market. My Ikelite 67mm wide angle lens fits perfectly on this Canon housing. Great videos.

Lightweight, easy to pack. Positively buoyant-requires Canon weight kit or other ballast to make neutral if you use it as is. 67mm threaded wide angle lenses fit. With lens, no weights needed. Addition of handle to left side would improve underwater handling with lens fitted (front heavy and slightly awkward). As with other cases, wet lenses will not self prime. Two .0625"(1.5mm)holes at the proper places will enable self priming- you can simply jump into the water and start shooting. Just returned from one week scuba trip. No problems at 100'+. Easy to clip to BC for hands-free swimming when not shooting. Quality of videos unknown at this time.

Bought it for snowboarding season, used it in my pool. Must say its pretty sweet. Cant wait for next snowboard season..

Lack of WB, not switching automatically from SD to in built memory, and having to remove the base plate to change the battery are major annoyances. But Abe's price is very reasonable and it does fit like a glove and give access to most used controls.
