Over 4 times the capability of the factory battery. Be sure to purchase a charger as well. All the features of the camera work with this cannon battery, vs. possible loss of features with no name low cost batteries.

I tired of swapping my two BP-809s, which only give up to an hour of recording & standby time. The 819 more than doubles that, so it's now the first battery I grab when I'm shooting video. Too bad Canon has such a nasty habit of soaking its customers on accessories. At least Abe's had the best delivered price!

I was tempted to buy lower cost knock-offs, but I didn't want to carry the different chargers, and had to be careful which battery pack was connected to which charger. Abe's had the best price from franchised dealers, so I went with them.
