[...] I wanted a new, ultra small and light camcorder for a tour of Ireland. This video will not be HD and does not need to be. Just a good quality record of the trip to view once back home to "remember". The camcorder is PERFECT for this use plus general family events to remember. I LOVE IT.

Neat little camera for Youtube, flash memory is ideal. If you don't need Hi Definition great value in this camera.

I have only used this camcorder a couple of times so far and I am happy with it, but not thrilled. I did not want to pay a few hundred more for HD, so I read consumer reports and this model had the best ratings for an SD flash memory camcorder.[@] also gives a good review. I have played back video on my 52" HDTV and the picture is not great, but i have read that this is common b/c it is so large and the camcorder is SD. I played back directly from the camcorder and have not yet tried to burn and DVD's. I will have to try it on a smaller SD TV. Overall, I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a decently priced camcorder for personal use (family, travel, etc...)

I used the camera videoing a hunt. I couldn't find the night vision feature. Retrieving videos a bit difficult. Other than that I think the product is super.

It's a well priced camcorder that gets the job done. It's very portable and the video is pretty good quality. The only gripes I have with it are that it can be cumbersome to actually use the movie files it creates on a Mac. It took me a little while to figure out the best way to convert the files into a usable format (I use ffmpegX, which is free and fast) but now that I've done that I don't have any issues. Overall, a pretty good buy at the lower end of the camcorder price range.

This is a standard definition camcorder, but it should be adequate for most everyone. I just bought this camcorder and used it to film my son's football game. The movie quality was fine even on my 50" plasma television. The Zoom works great. I do have one gripe - the file format is .MOD and the camcorder does NOT come with any software to view these files. This is especially true for MAC users like myself. There is software that comes with the camcorder that will convert the .MOD files if you have a Windows PC. The conversion process is VERY, VERY, VERY, slow -- so have plenty of snicker bars on hand! All is not lost, however, you can download a free video player caller a VLC player. You can easily find it on the Web. It works fine for viewing the .MOD files.
