I did some researches before I bought this cam. I found many camcorders which have the same specs, but 2X price. This JVC is absolutely reasonable. This price you can get only HD without harddisk from other brands (like canon, sony, refurblised ones).

I am really satisfied by this camera. All necessary functions are provided. Thanks to lower price from Abe' as well.

Even though it dosn't have a optical image stabilizer I am happy with the digital image stabilazation. I use a monopod. The Zoom is a little overkill and the sound could be better but not bad. I have had a little trouble getting playback through HDMI and need to call JVC but other than that I love this camcorder. I wouldn't by anything else after comparring price and features. The picture is great on our 47" LCD with component cables. Very happy with product.

The best thing about this camera is the size & shape. It fits easily into a medium pocket and is very light and easy to carry around. There were other cameras with more "bells & whistles" in this price range(that I probably would never use anyways)-- but they were bigger. And really-- for me the more portable it is, the more I will use it,and the better value it becomes! Intuitive and easy to use so far, although I haven't tried playback on a TV yet.
