My wife and I bought this camera to video ourselves wakeboarding, and it is awesome. The HD video is sweet on our LCD HDTV. Also, the software package enables you to capture images from paused video playback on the computer. I played slowmotion frames until I caught myself at the highest point off the water in a wake-to-wake jump. I e-mailed the jpg to family and friends, and got some great compliments on the image and my ability to still get some sweet air at 41 with a new left hip replacement! Livin' the dream!

Purchased camera to take photos of my new grandchild, and it sure does a good job. I have been using it instead of my digital camera. The pictures are clear and crisp. You can see every feature, and using an SD card means never having to run out of space.

This Panasonic High Definition camcorder with 3ccd video sensor delivers outstanding picture quality with 5.1 dolby sound. My videos came out on par with Discovery/National Geographic channel quality! It is very easy to use, haven't read the mannual yet. Comes with 10X digital camera, which can take excellent pictures while recoding video! Decent telephoto and macro. The power input is where battery sits, that means batttery needs to be removed for charging etc.
The only con I see is that the video copying software takes too long, still working with editing software.
The next model has viewfinder, could be useful, though the battery lasts quite some time with swingout lcd screen.
Recommend buying an UV lens to protect original lens.
