This camera is great for the average consumer who is looking to get a camcorder that has plenty of hard drive storage and is simple and easy to operate. I got this so I wouldn't have to worry about mini DV tapes everywhere and it has been a joy to own. I wish the file type that the files are saved as could be opened by more programs but the supplied software is sufficient for now.

I used this product to create videos of my daughter. For a standard def camcorder, the quality was grainy and overall poor, especially in low light. It is very easy to operate, though.

I bought this camcorder to replace my 9-year-old Sony DCR TRV 120. It's very easy to use and has all the features I need. It fits in any pocket of my jackets. The video quality is better than the old Sony. The 60G HD can hold videos of up to 28 hours, much longer than Hi8, MiniDV and DVD. It's interaction with PC is great using the accompanying software (Videocam Suite 1.0). During installation, the software poppep up a message saying it's not compatible with XP SP3. I just skipped the message and kept going. No problem at all. I love this new toy.

The only disadvantage is that I need to have the battery charger connected to the Camcorder before downloading the videos or pictures to a PC. It could become an inconvenience when I want to make a download outside my home.
