Comments about Sanyo VPC-FH1 Full 1080p HD Video and 8MP Digital Photos Camcorder - Black:

Great for the price. I don't know much about all the settings yet (ISO, shutter, white balance, aperture, etc. The biggest thing that helped me take good HD video from this was these settings:
- Set to highest video quality (1080p/60p)
- Turn off digital zoon
- Turn off "face follow"
- Turn to spot focus
- Turn off image stabilization
- Set a shortcut to "AE lock", on and off.

Things I found out about it after purchase:
- Will charge over USB.
- No manual focus while recording.
- Using a Class4 and up SD card works fine.
- Webcam feature works, but only auto focus control (no zoom , etc)
- For full 1080p 60p playback use CoreAVC (win)
- For full 1080p 60p playback use Niceplayer (mac)
- No mic in

It would be the perfect camera for me if it had min in and you could do manual focus while recording with a dial or something.

Otherwise, great for the price. Put into iMovie and make really nice and easy movies. Simple to make it 50% slow for cool slow-mo.

happy.

Comments about Sanyo VPC-FH1 Full 1080p HD Video and 8MP Digital Photos Camcorder - Black:

Have had for a couple weeks now and have shot indoor and outdoor video and some stills outdoor (both 2MP while doing video and 8MP stills). HD video is awesome when you have alot of light -- like with any camcorder. Don't expect miracles indoors/low light. Still are pretty good but the 8MP's pixelate at only 200% (files are 3MB jpgs -- they shouldn't compress them so much!)
Anyway, for the money it's a nice small easy-to-use camera-corder. We got it mainly for the HD video, so it will not replace our digital rebel for stills.

Comments about Sanyo VPC-FH1 Full 1080p HD Video and 8MP Digital Photos Camcorder - Black:

I was in the market for a good video camera when I came across the Sanyo Xacti fh1.
This video camera is great and the pros definitely out way the cons.
Cons:
The string for the camera lens cover is kinda long.
And the auto focus is sometimes off, but it does have a manual focus option.
Pros:
It does everything that you would want in a camera and it does it very well.

I would say that this is the best camera for the money.
