I bought this red video camera granted that red is my favorite color and it seemed to have a sleek design!Little did I know about it's size.It's INCREDIBLY small.Takes very good videos in light coniditions but awful in low light conditions.The LCD screen IS touchscreen but it's too small for anyone with wide/fat fingers and it's not always responsive.There's no nightshot on this thing either.Another huge flaw that I found was that there's no videolight,an important feature that Sony video camera's have been laking lately. I HAD to return it since it didnt have a video light and I don't think there are any detachable video lights that are compatible with this camera because there's no shoe on the camera.Bottom Line..if you don't care if this camera does bad in low light conditions or has no videolight..than by all means..buy it.Other than that, if your someone like me who wants/needs a video light..Beware!Do NOT buy this video camera!

Top notch HD quality recording, poor nightime recording so far - still working through the settings suggested by Sony - not very clearly provided in the manual. PMB software is a nightmare to install - have tried 5 times already and had 2 support sessions with Sony without luck. No problems managing without spare battery - just charge every night! If you are filming more than 2 hours per day you are not enjoying your vacation! No issues with sound quality.

The software shipped with the product is a nightmare...! It has caused me to restore my PC thrice! It requires xp sp 3 but installs even if you dont have one and then does not make the pc boot up properly..!
Also, there are issues playing the files recorded by the camcorder directly in Winamp/VLC. The software, however converts these to mpg format which then plays properly; I have not yet tried a DVD player directly.
The camcorder is really good, handy and easy to operate. To my surprise, the digital zoom was also not bad!
Great buy at this price.

Just returned from an Hawaiian cruise, where we used the camera indoors and out. Very simple to use. Took both movies and still photos with ease. It is so compact and easy to carry around. I had purchased an extra battery and data card, but did not need them. I just charged the camera up every evening when we returned. I haven't downloaded all of the images yet, but from what I could see in the viewfinder, everything turned out great.

I Like sony products and competitive price of Abes of maine. HD technology and all the great features in your budget is really a great. Usually i do not write any reviews, but this product is realy great and so compact that i love it. I lost my another sony Handy cam in travel, but still i feel that this product filled that depression,
